AVIDOST Part Ways With Singer

November 17, 2004

Chicago-based metallers AVIDOST have parted ways with singer Jen Gore. "Jen is pursuing a medical career and does not have the required time and dedication to front AVIDOST," the band write on their web site. "It was a difficult decision to take her off the album but one that absolutely had to be made, we wish her well in all her future endeavors. However, we are pleased to announce that the male side of our vocal position has been filled. We would like to extend a mighty welcome to Josh Taugner, our new vocalist. Josh has been involved with multiple bands and projects over the years and has the experience and stage presence to be leading the vanguard of the new and much more aggressive material. Female vocal fans take heart, though, we are still seeking a counterpart to Josh. Auditions continue for a female vocalist."

AVIDOST recently spent time at Engine Music Studios in Chicago, Illinois working with veteran producer Neil Kernon (NEVERMORE, CANNIBAL CORPSE, DEICIDE, QUEENSRŸCHE) on their debut album, entitled "Of Greatness Or Madness". The group, who had previously released a four-song demo in 2001, "A Silent Masquerade", are expected to release the new CD in early 2005.
