SLIPKNOT have issued the following press release explaining the reasons behind the cancellation of their US tour with IN FLAMES and 40 BELOW SUMMER: “Regrettably, SLIPKNOT have had to postpone their headlining U.S. tour which was set to kick off November 21 in Fargo, ND and wrap December 21 in their hometown of Des Moines, IA. The dates will be rescheduled in 2002. Earlier this week, the wife of percussionist Shawn (#6) Crahan had surgery at the Mayo Clinic for Crohn's Disease. Since her difficult recuperation is expected to take six weeks, Clown will remain at home in Iowa to care for his wife and three young children. The band apologizes to their fans and hope that they will understand this decision. SLIPKNOT—DJ Sid Wilson, drummer Joey Jordison, bassist Paul Gray, percussionist Chris Fehn, guitarist James Root, sampler Craig Jones, percussionist Crahan, guitarist Mick Thomson and lead singer Corey Taylor (also known as 012345678, respectively)—expect to embark on their European tour January 20 in Helsinki, Finland as planned in connection with the ongoing success of their platinum, critically acclaimed Iowa album (Roadrunner Records). The band will tour Japan, Australia and Canada before returning to the U.S. for the rescheduled dates (TBA).”

The mother of LIMP BIZKIT frontman Fred Durst, Anita Durst, has posted the following note at www.limpbizkitfan.com: “I got a call from Fred last week. He was in Germany and he was with [former LED ZEPPELIN guitarist] Jimmy Page. They were rehearsing a song he sang at the EMAs and Fred was star struck. It was so good to know that he gets that 'fan' feeling every time he meets someone like Jimmy. Fred is humbled and it makes me proud of him. He was so excited that he called me so I could meet Jimmy over the phone. You know I was lovin' that! You can look for me on MTV next month. I will be making an appearance and will let all of my BIZKIT Babies know when to tune in. I will try to say hello to you and NOT make a fool out of myself too much! Let me hear from you. You can now send me letters and pics too at: PO Box 3515555 Jax., FL 32235. Email me at [email protected]. I love you so much and enjoy hearing from you whenever you feel like talking with your peep! Love, Mom Durst
