THE REJECTS, a long-running project featuring vocalist Dizzy Reject, SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison, and STATIC-X guitarist Tripp Eisen, entered the studio on Monday, November 12th to finish up work on their long-awaited debut album, which is scheduled to emerge in early 2002 through an as-yet-undisclosed label. Regular studio updates, posted by Dizzy, as well as photos from the ongoing sessions, can be found at this location.

Shockingly embarrassing photos of KORN, snapped when the Bakersfield, California quintet were part of various Los Angeles-area cock rock and funk-rock outfits such as RAGTYME and L.A.P.D., can be found at this location.

Los Angeles' MEDICATION, featuring former MACHINE HEAD / SOULFLY guitarist Logan Mader, ex-UGLY KID JOE / LIFE OF AGONY vocalist Whitfield Crane, ex-ADAYINTHELIFE guitarist Blunt and SOULFLY drummer Roy Mayorga, will NOT be selling their recently-completed five-song EP at the shows on their upcoming UK tour—which is scheduled to begin tonight, November 14th, in Cambridge and last through the November 27th show at Jester's in Newport—but will instead have free two-song samplers to give away at the gigs. As previously reported, MEDICATION will spend one month in the recording studio, beginning on January 4th, working on their debut full-length CD for Warner Bros. Records, which is tentatively scheduled to be issued during June. The as-yet-untitled full-length album will be preceded by the release a five-song EP in February, which will coincide with the group's plans to embark on a three-month US tour, to be followed by a “major tour” in support of the full-length during the summer.

Not to be taken seriously: In light of the recent tragic events and in order to promote their upcoming US tour with JUDAS PRIEST, ANTHRAX have decided to drastically alter their image for their upcoming public appearances. To view the group's current look, click here.

ENTOMBED's Morning Star CD, which is scheduled to receive a US release through Koch Records on January 22nd, is also likely to be issued in vinyl form, although this has yet to be officially confirmed by the label. Talks are reportedly underway for the group to possibly reissue their previous studio effort, Uprising, on vinyl as well. More information on this as it becomes available.

Florida sensation ANDREW WK, whose backing band includes former OBITUARY drummer Donald Tardy, is scheduled to embark on a full UK tour in January of next year. The confirmed dates are as follows:

Norwegian black metallers DIMMU BORGIR will be issuing a limited-edition live EP, entitled Alive in Torment, in February to coincide with the band's second US tour in support of Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia. Recorded in Stuttgart, Germany on the Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia tour, Alive In Torment features five live tracks that guitarist Silenoz describes as “extremely raw and brutal, straight in the face, no power ballads.” The shaped CD was mixed by Peter Tägtgren at Abyss Studios. In other DIMMU news, the band is working on a DVD called World Misanthropy for an April release. According to Silenoz, “[It] contains lots of live stuff from around the globe, interviews, backst(abbing)age clips, all crazy shit.” The DVD will also feature at least four promo video clips and possibly contain a second disc featuring tracks from Spiritual Black Dimensions and Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia, previously only released in Japan.

Denmark's THORIUM will be entering Poland's Red House Studios during January to record their second full-length album, tentatively entitled Unleashing The Demons. As previously rumored, the album will be produced by VADER guitarist/vocalist Peter, and it will include around 10 tracks, including a cover of CANCER's 'Cancer F.cking Cancer'. A late spring release is expected, with tentative plans to support the CD with a summer festival tour, also featuring INIQUITY and WITHERING SURFACE.

ROGER MIRET AND THE DISASTERS, featuring AGNOSTIC FRONT frontman Roger Miret, THE BRUISERS bassist/vocalist Johnny Rio, BALANCE guitarist Rhys Kill, and THE KRAYS/THE RELIX drummer Jon Rosado, have completed work on their debut CD, which is scheduled to be issued through Hellcat Records shortly.

Canada's KATAKLYSM have decided to pull out of the MARDUK tour in January/February after the group's booking agency cancelled their headlining tour that was suppose to happen in December. 'We've had enough of the bullshit and 'politics'—f.ck it all, we have decided that we will not tour the states for Epic at all,” stated vocalist Maurizio Iacono. “It's just not worth it for us anymore, so we are looking at the possibility of returning to Europe for a second run of the old continent to support Epic early next year...life is short play fast!'

Former IMPELLITERRI vocalist Rob Rock has postponed the recording sessions for the follow-up album to Rage of Creation due to producer Roy Z being busy working on the new HALFORD album, which will take at least the rest of the year to complete. Meanwhile Rock and his band continue playing shows in Florida, including an upcoming appearance at Dante's in Orlando on Friday, November 23rd. The show starts at 10 PM with opening act MNEMONIC WAVE THEORY.

Australia's SILVERCHAIR have finished recording their as-yet-untitled fourth full-length album, and frontman Daniel Johns is currently in Los Angeles with producer David Bottrill (TOOL, PETER GABRIEL) mixing the effort for an early 2002 release. The follow-up to 1999's Neon Ballroom was tracked at Sydney's Studio 301 in the band's native Australia and it is reportedly a significant musical departure from the group's previous works. 'Perhaps some people who've liked SILVERCHAIR in the past won't like it,' Johns told Rolling Stone magazine. 'But hopefully some who've never liked the band previously will love it. It's a lot more ambitious. Bigger risks are being taken. What I think this album is and what everyone else is telling me it is are two totally different things. I really don't have much perspective. All I know is I'm incredibly enthusiastic about it, and I've never felt this good about anything I've done in my life.'

DOG EAT DOG are reportedly planning a special Christmas show, the details of which have yet to be announced.

ENDO will be supporting STATIC-X and ADEMA at Hard Rock Live in Orlando, FL on November 30th. Doors open at 7:00 PM and ENDO go on at 8:00 PM.

Guitarist/vocalist Gary Moore, bassist/vocalist Jack Bruce, and drummer Gary Husband got together last week to record two songs for an upcoming CD, tentatively entitled The Greatest Blues Man Of All Time—A Tribute To John Lee Hooker, which is due out on Blue Storm Music next year. The tracks are 'I'm In The Mood', featuring Jack Bruce on vocals, and 'It Serves Me Right To Suffer', featuring Gary on vocals. They were both recorded live on the same day for the CD, which is being produced by Pete Brown, ex-CREAM lyricist. In other news, Moore completed his Back to the Blues tour on September 19th at Carlisle Sands Centre, and no more live dates are planned for the remainder of the year, as Gary is taking some time off to write some new songs and 'recharge his batteries', according to his official web site.

MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP SET TO TOUR AMERICA IN SUPPORT OF NEW ALBUM, BEWARE OF SCORPIONS

...

PHOENIX, AZ - The MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP—otherwise known as MSG—will make a return to American live venues this fall as the group embarks on a tour in support of its new SPV album, Be Aware of Scorpions.

...

Guitarist Schenker assembled MSG in the early '80s as the MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP. It later transformed into the MCAULEY SCHENKER GROUP with the addition of singer Robin McAuley in mid '80s. MSG today consists of Schenker, vocalist Chris Logan, bassist Reverand Jones, and drummer Jeff Martin. Prior to forming MSG, Schenker spent years as guitarist in the SCORPIONS and UFO.

...

Be Aware of Scorpions was recorded at Schenker's own studio in Phoenix, where the German ex-pat resides. The album's title will understandably bring to mind Schenker's former band, but the title stems from nothing more than a playful warning from the band's photographer while taking pictures in Schenker's critter-infested yard.

...

The album is classic Schenker material, drawing inspiration from both the classical and rock worlds, but most importantly, from Schenker's own emotions.

SOLEFALD's Cornelius Jakhelln, who, along with BORKNAGAR's Lars Nedland makes up the Norwegian outfit, has published a book at the end of August via Norway's oldest and biggest publishing company, H. Ashehoug &amp Co. The book is called Gebura Musa (gebura being Hebrew, meaning strength or purification),and it is a collection of metaphysical poetry in Norwegian including a conversation with the Devil named IBLIIS (after the Qu'uran…where Satan bears the name). He has become a man and appears as quite naïve, but of course he's still the Devil. In other news, Jakhelln and Nedland are due to enter the studio in March or April to record the follow-up to their Pills Against Ageless Ills CD, which was released through Century Media Records in September.
