Guitar aficionados and METALLICA fans will be interested to know that ESP Guitars is releasing several new Kirk Hammett models:

KH-2 Relic - The KH-2 is an exact reproduction of Kirk Hammett's main stage guitar. Every detail was considered, including the wear and tear resulting from years of extensive touring. Production in 2001 will be limited to 100 instruments, and each guitar will include a certificate of authenticity signed by Kirk Hammett.

Late last month it was reported on the official Nothing Records news page Seems Like Salvation that Hot Topic, a music chain of rock apparel, printed a photo of Trent Reznor posing with an employee at a Ohio store location in a monthly newsletter that goes out to all the company's nationwide retail outlets. Well, it now turns out that the store allegedly fired the employee / NINE INCH NAILS fan because the photo was Hot Topic property. 'After one of the employees somewhere in the country reported me to his/her manager, or it might be my own manager who is not to fond of me and/or my obsession with NIN, it went strait to corporate headquarters,' the former Hot Topic employee said. 'I was told that I'm (or anyone) not allowed to post any Hot Topic property because it could offend Trent Reznor and things pertaining to that person's choice to be publicly exposed. I personally think it's bullshit,' he added. 'So does everyone else I work with...'


Jason Miller from GODHEAD will be the guest in the Under The Influence slot on the Radio 1 Rock Show in the UK on March 20th (or 21st, as it starts at midnight). Anyone outside the UK you can listen over the net at this address. The show is from midnight until 2:00 AM (UK time),with the Under The Influence slot generally being on around 1:30 AM.


BRUCE DICKINSON guitarist and HALFORD / HELLOWEEN producer Roy Z has been keeping busy as of late making guest appearances on other albums while contemplating his next move. Roy's 'main' band TRIBE OF GYPSIES are featured on the just released The Sprit of the Black Rose—A Tribute to Philip Parris Lynott tribute album on Record Heaven Music (www.rhcd.net). TRIBE OF GYPSIES contribute the Lynott / Gary Moore classic 'Parisienne Walkways' that was cut from the European version of the TOGStanding on the Shoulders of Giants CD. Roy also appears on the new W.A.S.P. album, Unholy Terror, out on Sanctuary / Metal-Is Records, playing lead guitar on 'Wasted White Boys' and 'Who Slayed Baby Jane?'. Last but not least, Roy has co-written 'Day of Reckoning', the opening track on the new WARRIOR album, 'The Code Of Life', out on Nuclear Blast Records in Europe (a US release should follow shortly). IRON MAIDEN vocalist Bruce Dickinson also co-wrote one track, 'We Are One'. The vocalist for WARRIOR is none other than Roy's old friend / Rage Of Creation partner-in-crime, Rob Rock (ex-IMPELLITERRI / AXEL RUDI PELL).


Guitarist Richie Scarlet (of SEBASTIAN BACH &amp FRIENDS &amp ACE FREHLEY fame) will be performing with Leslie West and Steve Luongo at the following shows:

The vocalist of the Swedish melodic heavy metal band VENI DOMINE, Fredrik Sjoholm, has come down with inflammation in his vocal cords, delaying work on the group's fourth album, which is currently being recorded.


New Jersey-based rockers PROPHET have reformed and signed to Z Records. Original members Scott Metaxas, Russell Arcara and Ken Dubman have confirmed that they will be part of the reformed line-up. The threesome have already began writing material for their comeback (fourth) album, which will be released in March / April 2002. Z Records are also proud to announce that we will be re-releasing the entire back catalogue during 2001. The band's extremely rare 1985 debut Prophet will be re-released on May 21st. Their second album, 1988's Cycle Of The Moon, will be re-released on August 6th with a bonus track entitled 'Hard Lovin' Man'. The band's third album, 1991's Recycled, will be re-released on October 14th and will also include bonus tracks.


West Palm Beach, Florida's GONEMAD, featuring former PAINGOD / RAPED APE drummer J.C. Dwyer, have split with guitarist Cliff Powell and have decided to carry on as a quartet, under a new name. The band have reportedly finished around 12 new songs and will announce their new name shortly.


Chicago's FROM ZERO have finalized the track listing for their Arista Records debut, One Nation Under, which is scheduled for a May 15th release:

The latest addition to the Ozzfest bill, PRESSURE 4-5 are currently recording their upcoming Dreamworks Records debut with producer Jay Baumgardner (PAPA ROACH, ALIEN ANT FARM, COAL CHAMBER). The as-yet-untitled effort is scheduled for a summer release.


RELATIVE ASH will be releasing a new EP in the early summer, featuring three new songs and three live tracks.


PRIMER 55 have just about completed recording the basic tracks for their upcoming album, tentatively titled New Release, which is scheduled for a summer release through Island / Def Jam Records. PRIMER 55 is also strongly rumored to be taking part in this year's Tattoo The Earth festival.
