New York 's DOG EAT DOG have been busy writing and rehearsing new material, and will be going into the studio at the end of March to start recording new songs for an as-yet-undetermined new label ('a major', according to bassist Dave Neabore) following the group's split with Roadrunner Records. Among the tracks set to be recorded is 'Weekender', which is being described as a 'real DED party song'. In the meantime, the band have announced a couple of upcoming European festival and club dates. The shows confirmed so far are:

DEF LEPPARD have reportedly written six new songs for the band's upcoming tenth studio album, due to be recorded later in the year. Pro-Tools software will be used for recording, so there is a possibility that the individual members will record some of their parts at home, using their own computers. The band has also met up with several producers during the past couple of weeks to discuss the possibility of doing certain tracks with different people manning the boards. DEF LEPPARD will get back together in late March for more writing sessions.
In other LEPPARD news, the script for the upcoming DEF LEPPARD movie is still being written, with vocalist Joe Elliott serving as a so-called 'script doctor' on behalf of the band, his primary role being to check the story for factual errors (for example, the first draft of the script had Phil Collen being in the group already during the High 'N' Dry tour). Casting for the movie will begin this week and broadcast has now been scheduled for the end of the year.
