May 18, 2005

APHELION (formerly MANDYLION),the Oslo, Norway-based group featuring former members of SACRALIS, OLD MAN'S CHILD, PECCATUM and DIMENSION F3H, have posted a rough-mix version of their song "Shock" at this location.

"Shock" comes off the group's upcoming debut album, due this summer via an as-yet-undisclosed label. The ten-song effort will mark the group's first recordings with new singer Cecile Langlie, who replaced Anette Guldbrandsen earlier in the year.

APHELION will be appearing at the Mandatory Festival in Norway on June 17. Also scheduled to perform at the festival are ZEENON and WHERE ANGELS FALL. More information is available at MandatoryFestival.tk.

APHELION released two demos as MANDYLION and after a few member changes decided to start afresh in 2004 under their current moniker. The last MANDYLION demo was awarded "Demo of the Month" in Metal Hammer magazine and the band have re-recorded three of the demo tracks for their forthcoming debut album.

APHELION play atmospheric groove metal with influences from bands like TOOL, SEIGMEN, OPETH, PINK FLOYD and MY DYING BRIDE.
