ANVIL Frontman To Guest On WJCU's 'Metal On Metal'

April 1, 2011

Guitarist/vocalist Steve "Lips" Kudlow of Canadian heavy metal legends ANVIL will guest on WJCU's "Metal On Metal" radio program on Friday, April 1 at 8:00 p.m. EST. Lips will discuss and premiere music from the band's forthcoming album, "Juggernaut Of Justice", due out May 10 via The End Records.

You can listen to the show live at 88.7 FM in the Cleveland, Ohio area or stream it live worldwide at www.wjcu.org.

"This is the best ANVIL album since 'Forged In Fire'," says "Metal On Metal" show host Bill Peters (pictured below with Lips). "The songs are meaner, faster and noticeably more aggressive than on previous post-classic period ANVIL releases. Lips is ripping out some of his best leads ever and his vocals are dead-on throughout the entire album. My current favorite [song] is 'When All Hell Breaks Loose', but it seems to change by the hour. There's not a weak track on here. The entire band is, without question, on top of their game. This is the ANVIL we all know and love and how longtime fans like me have wanted them to sound like again. Highly recommended!"

ANVIL threw an intimate, invite-only advance listening party for "Juggernaut Of Justice" at Toronto, Ontario's new Noble Street Studios during the Canadian Music Week. Several press outlets were given the chance to listen to the CD in its entirety in the studio's state-of-the-art master control room and Hellbound.ca was there to soak it all in, shoot some photos, shoot a couple of quick videos and enjoy a few tasty Steam Whistle beers as well. Check out the report at this location.

"Juggernaut Of Justice" was recorded at Dave Grohl's (NIRVANA, FOO FIGHTERS) Studio 606 in Northridge, California with famed producer Bob Marlette (BLACK SABBATH, AIRBOURNE, FILTER, ATREYU, ALICE COOPER). Prior to the arrival of the new album, The End will release the definitive ANVIL anthology. The collection will be comprised of classics old and new, with some surprises, and will showcase the band's entire career spanning back to 1978.

ANVIL, considered a major influence for a generation of hard rockers including METALLICA, SLAYER, ANTHRAX, and GUNS N' ROSES, was the subject of a critically acclaimed, must-see rock-doc, "Anvil! The Story of Anvil", directed by Sacha Gervasi. And in the process, the film has made the group (led by Kudlow and Reiner — both founding members) a household name.
