ANNIHILATOR Guitarist Lays Down 'Rippin' Solos' On 'Roadrunner All-Stars' CD

April 17, 2005

ANNIHILATOR guitarist Jeff Waters has contributed "some rippin' solos" to a Robert Flynn (MACHINE HEAD)-penned track that will appear on the forthcoming album to mark Roadrunner Records' 25th Anniversary. Tentatively titled "Roadrunner All-Stars", the full-length release will contain original tracks that are collaborations between past and present Roadrunner stars.

Commented Waters: "Just got back from San Francisco (an amazingly beautiful city); was doing some rippin solos for some Robb Flynn songs. Cool. Nice guy and killer rhythm player/writer.

"Roadrunner Records is putting out a CD featuring many of their old and new artists and good ole Jeffy was invited down. Was an honor and I know all you metal fans are gonna dig this CD when it comes out. (I hear there are some killer guitar solos on it, too! hehe!)"

As previously reported, four central musicians have been chosen to produce and write all the songs, including Flynn, Joey Jordison (SLIPKNOT),Dino Cazares (ex-FEAR FACTORY, BRUJERIA). These four musicians will not only play on the songs they have written but also assemble a unique team of artists to appear on each track. In order to cover as wide a spectrum as possible, no musician will play for more than one writer/producer and each song will feature a diiferent vocalist.

The project is being overseen by longtime Roadrunner A&R man Monte Conner. Mixing duties will be handled by legendary hard rock producer Colin Richardson. The album is tentatively scheduled for release in the fall of 2005.
