ANAKA Pens Song For 'The Ultimate Warrior'

"The Ultimate Return", a song created by Brooklyn, New York metal/hard rock band ANAKA, is now available for download on iTunes and CD Baby. A teaser for the song is also up on the band's MySpace. In addition, an "extended jamming version" is also available for purchase.

The theme was used as the entrance music by former WWF/WWE world champion The Ultimate Warrior in his return to professional wrestling in Barcelona, Spain on June 25.

"It was truly an honor creating The Ultimate Warrior's theme music," Peter Pallis, lead guitarist of ANAKA, said. "We knew it had to be brutal, it had to be intense, and it had to be unwavering, just like the man himself."

Pallis added, "When Warrior emailed me and asked to do this for him, I knew it was going to be special and a project that I would savor for a lifetime. Writing the 'ultimate' theme song for The Ultimate Warrior...the greatest wrestler of all time and my childhood idol. Welcome back, Warrior!"

In other news, ANAKA has finished recording its as-yet-untitled new album and is currently in the mixing process. The CD was produced by Jerry Farley, who has previously worked on projects involving members of LAMB OF GOD, BREAKING BENJAMIN, CANDIRIA, EVERY TIME I DIE and ILL NINO.

ANAKA released the music video of the title track from its last record, "Rust & Jade", in September 2007. The clip, which can be viewed below, was directed by Kevin J. Custer, who has worked on videos for OVERKILL, ALL THAT REMAINS, UNEARTH, SUFFOCATION, MADBALL, STRAIGHT LINE STITCH and KINGDOM OF SORROW.
