AMARAN Set Release Date For New Album

November 19, 2003

Sweden's AMARAN have set a January 20, 2004 release date through Listenable Records for their sophomore effort, "Pristine In Bondage" (view cover here). The first pressing will be a slipcase edition with one bonus track — for a total of 11 tracks — and the Japanese version (due on Dec. 17) will be a 13-tracker with two additional bonus tracks. Download an MP3 of the song "Inflict" at this location.

The follow-up to "A World Depraved" was recorded at Studio Underground in Västerås, Sweden and is the group's first since the departure of bassist Mikael Andersson (he has since been replaced by JULIE LAUGHS NO MORE drummer Ronnie Bergerståhl).

AMARAN will play their first gigs outside Sweden in late November when they embark on a three-date Dutch tour with progressive metallers SUN CAGED. A European tour with AFTER FOREVER, DARK MOOR and NIGHTMARE will follow in January.
