AL PITRELLI Skips SAVATAGE Tour, ANNNIHILATOR's JEFF WATERS Jumps In

June 24, 2002

Due to commitments scheduled prior to his re-joining the group, ex-MEGADETH guitarist Al Pitrelli will not be able join SAVATAGE for their planned summer tour. In his place, a longtime friend of SAVATAGE, ANNIHILATOR guitarist/mainman Jeff Waters, will step in to help out with the guitar duties.

"I'm more than happy to help out a great band made up of very talented and professional people. Besides, I owe [SAVATAGE guitarist] Chris Caffery: he took me to my first NHL hockey game!" commented Waters.

Caffery added: "Jeff and I are very good friends, and he is also one of my favorite guitarists. When we contacted him, I was very excited about the possibility of him playing these shows. I am definitely looking forward to working with him."

SAVATAGE's upcoming dates include the following:

Jul. 26 - Moncofar, SPA @ Rock Machina Festival
Jul. 29 - Aschaffenburg, GER @ Colos-Saal
Jul. 31 - Munich, GER @ Backstage
Aug. 01 - Bochum, GER @ Zeche
Aug. 02 - Wacken, GER @ Wacken Open Air Festival
Aug. 03 - Pratteln, SWI @ Z7, Metal Dayz Festival
