AGATHODAIMON Begin Work On New Material, Part Ways With Vocalist

German black metallers AGATHODAIMON are currently working on the material for their as-yet-untitled fourth album, which they plan to record early next year for a tentative summer 2003 release.

"We'll surely deliver an album that again combines elements of all previous albums, but also will further show some new elements in our sound," guitarist Sathonys stated about the upcoming album's musical direction. "There's also some sad news this month, as our Romanian vocalist Vlad decided to finally leave the band, as he wants to emigrate to the US and form a band in the vein of [MARILYN] MANSON/ROB ZOMBIE there. It wasn't an easy decision, but as he lost his passion for extreme music since quite some time, it's probably the best solution. It won't affect the upcoming album, as even the last album Chapter III was already written and recorded without him. But at least it now enables us to focus on the band without having to worry anymore whether he'll be able to participate somehow on some songs or not (as he was forced to live in Romania the past years). That's a slight relief, although it's very sad to see a friend and gifted songwriter go. But don't worry, we'll keep you up to date concerning his future activities. And who knows, perhaps we'll work together in the future in some way..."

In other news, AGATHODAIMON have lined up several gigs in the UK, Austria and Netherlands during October/November. The dates are as follows:

Oct. 02 - Schweinfurt, GER @ Brauhauskeller (w/MISLEAD, CIRCLE OF GRIEF, FORTRESS OF INSANITY)
Oct. 19 - Vienna, AUT @ Planet Music (w/SOLARISIS, ASARU, SANGUIS)
Oct. 29 - London, UK @ TBA (w/DESTRUCTION, KREATOR)
Oct. 31 - Bristol, UK @ The Firestation (w/DESTRUCTION, KREATOR)
Nov. 01 - Peterborough, UK @ The Fiddlers Elbow (w/OCULARIS INFERNUM)
Nov. 08 - Rotterdam, NETH @ Baroeg (w/THE WOUNDED, SERENADE OF DARKNESS)
