AEROSMITH frontman Steven Tyler has signed on to sing the national anthem at an upcoming charity hockey game run by actor-comedian Denis Leary. Tyler will also reportedly act as a coach, along with actress-model Elizabeth Hurley, for the Denis Leary Hollywood All-Stars — a team featuring Tim Robbins, Rick Moranis, former hockey great Cam Neely, Bobby Farrelly, and Scott Wolf — which will compete against a Boston Bruins Alumni team, which includes John Bucyk, Reggie Lemelin, John McKenzie, and Rick Middleton, and which will be coached by Bobby Orr, Derek Sanderson, and George Wendt.
The event, dubbed the Celebrity Hat Trick, will be presented by EMC Corporation and will take place on September 29th at 3 p.m. ET at the Centrum Centre in Worcester, Massachusetts. The event also includes a private dinner and private golf tournament.
Tickets, priced from $15 to $40, are available at the Centrum Centre box office and via Ticketmaster.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Denis Leary Firefighters Foundation, which provides funding and resources for fire departments to obtain the highest level of equipment, technology, and training. It also raises money for injured and fallen firefighters, particularly those in and around Worcester County, although the group distributed $1.2 million dollars to the families of New York City firefighters killed or hurt in the September 11, 2001, terror attacks on the World Trade Center.
