March 30, 2009

Original KISS guitarist Ace Frehley will perform at the grand opening of the 7,000-square-foot Hard Rock Café in the new Yankee Stadium on Thursday, April 2. Frehley will be backed by guitarist Scott Ian (ANTHRAX),bassist Frank Bello (ANTHRAX) and drummer Anton Fig ("Late Show with David Letterman") for a performance of the classic song "New York Groove". The event is not open to the public.

Hard Rock Café Yankee Stadium is located on the corner of 161st Street and River Avenue and features seating for 210 guests. It will be open year-round to ticketholders and non-ticketholders alike with a full bar and patio seating. The restaurant will house memorabilia from top artists, with an emphasis on New York-area talent and additional Yankees-related pieces.

Ace Frehley's new solo album, "Anomaly", is tentatively due later in the year. The CD was produced and recorded in Westchester County, New York between 2007 and 2009 and was mixed by Marti Frederiksen, who has previously worked with AEROSMITH and DEF LEPPARD, among many others.

Frehley recently spent time on the road fronting a band that featured second guitarist Derrek Hawkins, drummer Scot Coogan (ex-BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION) and bassist Anthony Esposito (ex-LYNCH MOB).
