ABANDONED Parts Ways With Drummer, Announces Replacement

January 24, 2009

German thrashers ABANDONED have parted ways with drummer Sven Vormann (DESTRUCTION, JESUS CHRYSLER SUPERSKUNK). According to the band, Sven was forced to leave the group "due to a general lack of time because of his day job and stuff." Vormann's full-time replacement in ABANDONED is Jan S. Mischon, who filled in for Sven temporarily on a recent tour with TANKARD and helped the band out when they played Wacken Open Air and Earthshaker festivals in 2005.

ABANDONED is planning to enter the studio in May to begin recording its third album for a late 2009 release.

The band's sophomore CD, "Thrash You!", was released in June 2007 via Dockyard 1.

"Thrash You!" was the follow-up to "Thrash Notes", which was recorded late 2005 at Hammer Music Studio (formerly Karo Studio) in Brackel, Germany and was released in 2006 via Dockyard 1.
