July 24, 2003

APerfectCircle.org has posted an MP3 clip of "Weak And Powerless", the first single from A PERFECT CIRCLE's forthcoming "Thirteenth Step" album, at this location. "Thirteenth Step" is due on September 16 through Virgin Records. The single will impact radio stations on August 4.

As previously reported, "Thirteenth Step" is the follow-up to 2000's "Mer de Noms", which debuted at No. 4 on The Billboard 200 and has sold more than 1.4 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. It spawned the singles "Judith" (No. 4 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks airplay chart, No. 5 Modern Rock Tracks),"3 Libras" (No. 12 Modern/Mainstream Rock Tracks),and "The Hollow" (No. 14 Mainstream Rock, No. 17 Modern Rock).

"Thirteenth Step" is the band's first set with new bassist Jeordie White (ex-MARILYN MANSON),formerly known as Twiggy Ramirez. White replaces Paz Lenchantin, who joined ZWAN. A PERFECT CIRCLE member Troy Van Leeuwen played on the new album but will not be touring with the group, due to commitments with QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE.
