IRON MAIDEN Announces 'A Matter Of The Beast Summer Tour '07' - May 8, 2007
In acknowledgement of the 25th anniversary of the release of their seminal album "The Number of the Beast" and the tremendous international success of their recent album "A Matter of Life and Death", IRON MAIDEN's forthcoming June dates in Europe will go under the banner of "A Matter Of The Beast Summer Tour 07". The band will be playing five songs from each of these albums plus other fan favorites and will be taking out a full-on stage production which will include the final appearances of Eddie's notorious tank!

Says vocalist Bruce Dickinson: "It's always a lot of fun for us to play outdoors in the summer. It tends to be a different vibe to playing indoors, much more of a party atmosphere so it's good to put together a set list that matches this. There has been a lot of interest in the 25th anniversary of the release of 'Number of the Beast' so we thought it would be great to give the fans a bit of extra Beast this summer to acknowledge this."

Maiden are still heavy, and one of the forefathers of what is considered "heavy" today ... only an idiot would dispute that, even if they don't like them. I, for one, don't dig Priest ... but I appreciate them for being important.

Get some perspective and learn your history. When Maiden first came out they were about as heavy as things got and IMO pretty much personify what heavy metal is.

The reason they get called "Up the Irons" is twofold...one, obviously because they`re called "Iron" Maiden and two, Harris is a big fan of West Ham and this is also used to cheer them on.

1. The Number Of The Beast
2. Run To The Hills
3. Hallowed Be Thy Name

I'm sorry Bruce, but they're played out.

Instead, play:

2. Children Of The Damned
3. The Prisoner
4. 22 Acacia Avenue
5. Total Eclipse

I saw Maiden on the Number of the Beast tour three times, but the first was th most memorable -- opening a small Iowa auditorium for 38 Special!! It was probably the most bizarre concert pairing I've ever seen.

Dear Maiden,

Please play 5 songs from NOTB. Any 5 songs will do, as long as you at all costs avoid playing beast, hills, and hallowed. Thankyou and goodnight.

And now, in a shock development, Maiden announce that they will have a new live album coming out after the tour. This will be the 97th live album so far released by Maiden. Only 3 to go to crack the century.

I'm a HUGE Maiden fan but I am turned off by the fact that they haven't done a full U.S. tour since the 2003 Give Me Ed tour that I attended in San Antonio.

Bruce does NOT hate playing in America. He hates all the stuff that goes with the corporate shit - ie fat rich kids paying their way to the front rows.

You seem to care too much for what Bruce Dickinson has to say. Fill his mouth with money and he'll be pleased to tour the US - that's reason why he's back in Maiden after all the bullsh*t he said about the band, isn't it?

Anyway, way to go Lazy Maiden. You're gonna play only two different songs and you're selling it like a complete new conceptual tour... easier than putting out the promised Powerslave stage set-up and re-learning a lot of the stuff from the 84-90 era. Rod Smallwood rocks (their bank account).
