Im definitely with Dillinger on this one. Avenged Sevenfold is a joke. Their gay costumes and jokes make me laugh. I would rather listen to noisy hardcore like DEP or Converge anyday than that girlie rock Avenged Sevenfold tries to pass off as metal. Heavy is not always about the distorshin/overdrive in the guitars. Heavy is more then that. It has to be fast or extremely slow. It has to have agression. Judas Priest meets those qualifacations. A7x doesent.

Chances are, the only a7x songs you've heard are from the last album. It would be like judging Judas Priest's heaviness from Living After Midnight or something. There are many faster, more aggressive songs on the first two a7x albums. Just because they are popular and mainstream, doesn't make them any less heavy.

I didnt say that. Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, etc. are all mainstrem and heavier, faster, and more agresive then A7x. Those bands are bigger then a.s.

Heres my 2 cents,I saw avenged sevenfold open for Shadows Fall and I'd have to say that their music rocks BUT the vocals arent my cup of tea.As for Dillinger Escape Plan,That vocalist just plain sucks,his bellow is non-existant and he screams un-intelligible.The Black Dahlia Murders vocalist has 2 tones and his scream is pleasant to hear as well as his demonic bellow.I cant say I have ever heard a dillinger song that I liked.

im no fan of ax7. i get it that they are technically talented, but not very original and the vocals are pretty weak. but one thing i do know is that i read both bands in interviews.... ax7 doesnt want to pick this fight. period. musically they are so completely different thats its impossible to compare them. its just a matter of taste. but live, on tv, and in print dillinger is always fuckin hilarious. ax7 doesnt have the firepower to battle that.

Avenged Sevenfold are the definition of the cliche rock band. Their vocalist wears make-up and has a horrible voice. They insist, no no, they PERSIST in ripping off Iron Maiden to a deadly degree and cannot pull it off at all. They are a joke. Sure, they can play their instruments but they aren't using their skills very well at all, rather they are trying to be commercially sucessful.

Sadly, they are succeeding. And you know why? They are simple enough to appeal to many, technical enough to please some people who try to act like they know what musical skill is, yet they are too gay to even be called a Metal band. They will never ever be a real Metal band. It would be a disgrace.

Dillinger Escape Plan, on the other hand... They play their instruments and take their music to extremes that Avenged Sevenfold fans cannot even comprehend. Odd time signatures and jazzy guitar parts combined with Hardcore music is what they are. Rather than Iron Maiden, though, they have decided to sound like Faith No More, particularly Mike Patton's era (The important one). They have a lot of skill and are not afraid to show it.

I think they are taking this as a huge joke, hence the name changes. Just look at how ridiculous those names are. The singer of Avenged Sevenfold is a dumbass and DEP are handling this in a comedic manner. I think we can mostly agree on that one. We all also know who would in in a fight: Dillinger Escape Plan.

Some of you people are way too narrow-minded. And some of you simply don't know shit about music. The latter should just keep their mouth shut. I gave Avenged Sevenfold a chance but I couldn't listen to it. Yet I see why they capture so much attention. But what do you expect - its mainstream trendy music. DEP now is the band that is fucking sick at least in my opinion. It takes time to get into their songs but they fucking work hard to get their across. Such bands like DEP have my respect and support.

Ok, seriously, I think both bands are great. I prefer A7x and have been listening to them longer, and I must say that dep can sound pretty "noisy". But still, I think both bands are good.

Plus, who knows. Maybe they don't have beef at all and are just sucker punching all of you little fucks into listening to some of their songs. Think about it. If this shit never started, no one would go "I think I'll go listen to (insert band name here) and form my own opinion."
