FATES WARNING tapped Mike Portnoy (ADRENALINE MOB, TRANSATLANTIC, DREAM THEATER, AVENGED SEVENFOLD) to sit behind the kit for their first-ever visit to South America as special guests for QUEENSRŸCHE on April 14, 2012 at HSBC Brasil in São Paulo, Brazil. Multi-camera fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below.

The "Parallels" lineup of FATES WARNING played a number of shows in 2010 in support of the released special edition of the album, which was made available through Metal Blade Records. In addition to remastered audio, there is a second audio disc of live and demo material. The package also includes a DVD with nearly three hours of material, including a complete live show from the 1992 "Parallels" tour and a documentary on the making of "Parallels" which includes live, studio, and current day interview footage with all the band members, Terry Brown (producer) and Brian Slagel (CEO of Metal Blade Records).

FATES WARNING's latest CD, "X", was released in 2004 on Metal Blade Records. The follow-up to 2000's "Disconnected" was recorded at Carriage House studios in Stamford, Connecticut and features cover artwork by renowned record-cover artist Ioannis (DREAM THEATER, SEPULTURA, DEEP PURPLE, BLUE ÖYSTER CULT, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, KING CRIMSON, BIOHAZARD, VOIVOD, UFO, OVERKILL).

No Zonder is a major bummer, no offense to Jarzombek. Still, first day buyer here.

AWESOME NEWS!!!!!

Fates is a top notch and vastly underrated band. Matheos and Aresti are some of the best guitarists around.

Yes they've changes style since their original beginnings but they still rock!

Long Live FATES!!!!!!!! Im there December 11th to see them LIVE!

skeptic.

Right, no Zonder, no peace.
I was under the impression that Alder's voice was gone.
I must be mistaken.
I'll wait for the vids.

I pretty much wrote them off as still being together once Ray joined Redemption and Jim started doing the OSI albums. Good to see I was wrong. Its good to see Frank back and I'm looking forward to hearing some new material. I always liked Jim's song writing abilities.

was the best album they did with Ray Adler. Parallels and perfect symmetry were pretty good too, but nowadays Ray's voice is not what it sued to be thats why Fates Warning should reunite with John Arch

That would be great, although I read that Arch has no interest in touring.

Well Ray has been sounding just fine on all the Redemption releases the past few years, so I'd have to say his vocals are doing just fine. Hoping they heavy this one up a bit similar to A/M album of last year.

what the reasons were for Ray not being involved in Fates Warning album 11 (also knows as arch/matheos) as he was the original intention by Jim. But I am very sure that Jim would not make this album with Ray if his voice was not up to the task.

I hope they maintain what they started on the Arch/Matheos album, with the heaviness and style. It's basically the same band except with Ray singing. And I'm OK with no Zonder, Jarzombek was a monster on the A/M album.

Finally! It's been years since they've been on a proper Tour of the US and even longer since they've gone out as headliners in the US. I can't wait for that Spartanburg gig. Wish they would add a Charlotte date, though. Amos' would be a perfect venue for them.

to read John Arch's name there in lieu of Ray's but I'll gladly take a new album from them if it kicks as much ass as the Arch/Matheos album did. Looking forward to something in that vein of heaviness.

he can't hit the high notes at all anymore. He sings the old songs an octave lower. It's pretty lame.

Everyone is doing a reunion nowadays so why not these guys. I'm really not interested. Perfect Symetry was good but then they kept doing the same over and over and that's what killed them for me. I can only listen to so much of that sappy shit. Plus, they need Zonder back. Jarzombek is cold but he really needs to take some lessons in feeling because he plays with absolutely none!

Fates Warning's best material will always be the 1st three records. No Exit is great too though. Theyll never top the Spcetre Within or Awaken the Guardinian. Kyrie Eleison what a classic song, they dont write stuff like that anymore. Bring back John Arch
