During a brand new interview
with the Los Angeles radio station KROQ
, SYSTEM OF A DOWN
's John Dolmayan
(drums) and Shavo Odadjian
(bass) were asked about the possibility of the band releasing a new studio album in the not-too-distant future.
"We are going to make a new album at a certain point, it's just a matter of when the four of us decide it's the right time to make it," said Dolmayan
. "We don't want anyone to go in there and do it because the rest of us want to do it. We all want to do it because it's the right thing to do for everybody. I wouldn't want to go in and make an album that doesn't represent the best that we have to offer. If you force someone in the studio ahead of when they're ready for it, then you're probably going to make something mediocre."SYSTEM OF A DOWN

singer Serj Tankian
that the band's recent tours have been a "blast," adding, "I think we've played better because of it. There was new excitement in playing together and all of the shows have been really great. Everyone's told us that we sound better than we did in 2006 when we left off, so I think it's great."
