MEGADETH: New 'Super Collider' Studio Clip Posted Online - Mar. 16, 2013
The tenth in a series of video clips featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the recording sessions for the new MEGADETH album, "Super Collider", can be seen below.

"Super Collider" is scheduled for a June release via MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine's new label, Tradecraft, which is distributed by Universal Music Enterprises(UMe). Mustaine sang the very last note on the album on March 13 at his Vic's Garage studio in San Marcos, California. Horn player Bob Findley — who previously appeared on the track "Silent Scorn" from MEGADETH's 2001 CD, "The World Needs A Hero" — is a featured guest on the song "A House Divided" on the new album.

"Super Collider" is MEGADETH's first release since its recent split with Roadrunner Records.

With the recent acquisition of EMI, UMe now brings together MEGADETH's classic, 14-year, seven-album Capitol catalog, which includes one multi-platinum release ('92's "Countdown To Extinction"), four platinum records ('86's "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?" ; '88's "So Far, So Good... So What?"; '90's "Rust in Peace"; '94's "Youthanasia"), and one gold ('97's "Cryptic Writings"). In all, the band has scored five U.S. Top 10 albums (including 2007's "United Abominations" and 2009's "Endgame") and two Top 5 releases, with 2011's "TH1RT3EN" debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hard Rock Albums chart.

Man, Keith Richards looks more spry than Mustaine does these days.

Not a huge fan but I hope he's okay physically. Seems that neck surgery took a lot out of him.

Whatever - looking forward to hearing this album.

I can't stomache Dave's hateful and ignorant conservative nonsense, but as a guitar player, his riffs are really awesome and I love learning them. Looking forward to this album.

These studio clips are total crap!!

I would give anything to get some real clips, instead of this short nonsense. A real in the studio documentary (like "A year and a half...", or those bonus DVD's with some of Machine heads CD-releases) with Megadeth would be soooo cool!

Another 1,5 minutes of complete mish-mash - and then Mudstaine's cringeworthy attempts at "vocals" to top it off..

Is he even singing ? Sounds like an angry grandpa, just louder. Horrible. Maybe its time to take a break, recharge the batteries and return with some thrash ?

I absolutely dislike what became of Mustaine and Megadeth, I pretty much adored both for a long time. Also met Dave before he was "saved".

But I got to cut some slack here, it DOES take a major toll.

I had the same Dave had. First you're freaking out because they perform surgery on your open spine, going thru the front of the neck.

If you're lucky the doctors tell you what to do and not to do afterwards, but that always lies in the eye of the beholder.

most essentially you know jackshit and it never feels like before again. and then you realize how many things you will never do again. even carrying a backpack.

essentially, it is very scary.

I am pretty sure Dave is fucked up to a certain extend because he could not do sports like he used to and the fear he must have had.

And he had enough with his arm already, and I am sure he knew how fucked up his voice became and that it puts his career at risk.

As much as I hate what Megadeth stands for in 2013, I am sorry for the guy.

Well I wasn't bashing him...only observing that he looks very frail.

I'm in the same boat in terms of not liking his politics or his personality, but I remain in awe of his guitar skills.

I saw him last year after his surgery, and he can still play well, but the energy and voice are way down.

Dave hasn't written a good album since he quit drugs in the early 90's

Please start doing heroin again so you can write a good album!

Man, his vocals are more awful than normal anymore...but I never really listen to Megadeth for the vocals. Although the new albums don't compare much to their classics, there's still a lot of good riffs thrashing from those guitars. I'll definitely check out the album, and hope for less preachy lyrics about government and politics.

Megadeth is Megadeth and Megahaters should just quit reading news about them and start posting on band they like. Also mUSTAINE IS mUSTAINE.. for better or worse, his music brand is what counts. Don't like his opinions? stop reading or listening to them. Complain about it if he has his own "The late show w Dave Mustaine" there you can bash him at that side. and oh yeah he looks beat, really focusing and working on the album

I don't see it as negative as most people here, I have some hope for this new record.

1. They seem to put much more work into it than into 13 and also take their time. Hopefully no left- overs to fill the record.

2. The riffs that you can make out in that ... not so good... clips show alot of promis imo.

3. Mustaine was never a good singer, however I much prefer his lower snarl to the the higher weasle-vocals. What I heard on these bits don't sound worse than what I am used from him and he seems to stay lower. Good thing.

I actualy expect a good record

Mustaine needs to go to rehab... get off the Jesus juice.

Why, in America, do they have this stupid Alcoholics Anonymous thing (which Mustaine went to)? It's like... a Christian temperance brainwashing programme with almost fuck all to do with proper cures for actual alcoholism, endorsed by the government. How's that for separation of church & state?!

"- We admitted we were powerless over alcohol - that our lives had become unmanageable.
- Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
- Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.
- Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
- Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
- Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
- Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
- Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
- Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
- Continued to take personal inventory, and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.
- Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
- Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs."

THAT is America's "cure" for "alcoholism"? Really?! No wonder Mustaine became such a dork/nutjob if this is what he spent his time doing!!!

I think this proves: a country of permanently drunk people >>>>>>>>>>>>> a country of religious halfwit tossers; in every conceivable way*.

You know it's true. Just look at Finland!

*unless you consider being a fat, thick, belligerent, bigoted ignoramus that likes to go around bombing people a virtue.

Those vague clips are just published to keep your attention away from the fact that the band has been on autopilot for a decade and that this next album will be as average as the last few. Megadeth lost it when both Daves got saved. You cannot write good, angry music when you're a born-again christian and a (semi)millionaire.

Liked the last one. Looking forward to this one.

It won't be Rust In Peace, but it will still be good.
