Former Members Of JUDAS PRIEST, ALICE COOPER, OZZY OSBOURNE To Tour Russia As ROCKSTAR - Mar. 15, 2013

Former and current members of JUDAS PRIEST, ALICE COOPER, OZZY OSBOURNE and SCORPIONS will play classic songs from their respective bands during a week-long tour of Russia under the banner ROCKSTAR.

ROCKSTAR is:

* Tim "Ripper" Owens (JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, DIO DISCIPLES) - Vocals
* Keri Kelli (SLASH'S SNAKEPIT, ALICE COOPER, RATT) - Guitar
* James Kottak (SCORPIONS, KINGDOM COME) - Drums
* Rudy Sarzo (OZZY OSBOURNE, QUIET RIOT, WHITESNAKE, DIO) - Bass
* Teddy "Zig Zag" Andreadis (GUNS N' ROSES) – Keyboards

Ripper looks like a wigger here. Hard to believe he sang in Maiden and Iced Earth and not Limp Bizkit.

As as someone else said, quit dicking around and bring on some new Charred Walls of the Damned and Beyond Fear instead.

My favorite Sarzo moments are him hamming up the camera in the "live" Ozzy videos playing the original stuff, like the camera should've been on him.

... is by far the biggest name involved here. At least he actually played on some big selling records and huge tours.

Teddy was a hired gun for GN'R playing second fiddle to Dizzy Reed.

Kottak is a great drummer, but all the good Scorps records were Rarebell.

Kelli is just a gun for hire when a band needs a rhythm guitarist.

Ripper is a good singer, but he will always be seen as the Marky Mark in the history of Judas Priest.

Ripper and Rudy are good guys, but it's the epitome of fraudulence to use the names of their former bands as if they were key members.

It'd be like being tricked into seeing Iron Maiden only to find out that it's Dennis Stratton.

Ripper also helped cover Abigail and Alison Hell (which he absolutely nailed) on the Roadrunner United concert from 2005 so I'm actually starting to believe he's just out there to have fun and he has more fun doing cover tunes. Maybe it speaks against his overall musicianship, but if it makes the dude happy, why not?

I bet they do some awesome versions of hard rock classics. Ripper is a great vocalist (remember that he sang for Judas Priest as a sub for Rob and also Iced Earth at one point), Kottak played well in The Scorpions and Kingdom Come, and Sarzo has always been in the cream-of-the-crop bands. As for Teddy and Kelli, at least they can play. In a music starved country such as Russia, I bet these dates will be at full capacity.

Man this is terrible. Kottak's agent emails amateur bands on Myspace offering to let him record their drums for $1000 a track. Sarzo will take a job from anyone and their grandmother, even fake Queensryche rip-offs. The others are just no name hired hands.

Ripper's the only good musician here, but I'd rather hear him do his own stuff.

WTF??

Sarzo is an AWESOME bassist, and has got one of the most impressive resumes in rock 'n roll.

Ripper continues partaking in these cover bands because there's obviously more money in that than in trying to launch a brand new original band. The guy's now in his mid-40s and doesn't seem to want to deal with all the bullshit that goes into that. He probably LOST money with Beyond Fear and CWOTD.
