TED NUGENT Preparing To Get Back Into The Studio - Mar. 14, 2013
Legendary rocker Ted Nugent tells Classic Rock Revisited in a new interview that he is prearing to enter the studio to begin recording his long-awaited new album — his first since 2007's "Love Grenade".

"God knows we are eating our hearts out and busting our ass to get back into the studio to capture the new songs I am creating these days," Nugent says. "I am confident there will be a new killer record [as soon as possible]."

Nugent's upcoming CD will feature contributions from vocalist/guitarist Derek St. Holmes, who rejoined the Nugent band in 2011 after fifteen years apart.

"Derek and the boys and I are humping madly to jam up a storm, working on my new tunes," Nugent says. "I am certain real hard rock soul music lovers will love them."

In 1975, at only 22 years of age, St. Holmes found himself traveling the world and playing to sold-out audiences in U.S. and European cities. He remained in Nugent's band until 1978 and can be heard on such Nugent classics as 1975's "Ted Nugent", 1976's "Free-For-All", 1977's "Cat Scratch Fever" and the classic 1978 album "Double Live Gonzo!"

After leaving the the Ted Nugent band in 1978, St. Holmes returned for a brief period in 1982 and 1987. In 1995, he helped co-write the critically acclaimed Ted Nugent CD "Spirit Of The Wild", but left again after touring to support the release.

How can he be legendary when the only decent music he's released was between 1975-76??

It's been almost 40 years Uncle Ted.

Stick with being a right-wing mental midget.

At least you made us laugh.

I wish Ted would pull the old Fender Super Twin stacks out of the attic and play only Gibson Byrdlands on this record. Go back to the roots...hire Tom Werman to produce...I'm dreaming, I know...

"High Enough" and "Death by Misadventure" are all you really need by Turd Nugget. To a MUCH lesser extent Free-For-All and CSF are okay too, but not too often. I detest Strangehold. It's a commonly held fact that it was the song a DJ put on when they needed to shit, which is why it gained traction at all.

Can't wait for Ped Nugent to kick the bucket in a few, short years so I can piss all over his grave once and for all.

Thought Ted Nugent was "dead or in prison"

Either way I wasn't expecting a new album anytime soon. MY mistake! Seems that I was really wrong.

But maybe the prison has a recording studio... Hence the references to "humping madly" and "busting our ass".

Most of you are probably too young to even remember, but he was one of the wildest rock and roll mf-ers to ever come around. He didn't drink, didn't smoke, and was as crazy as it gets, even by today's standards.

Yes, there was a time when all these vanilla 'metal' bands weren't around to stink up the industry. As they used to say, back when rock and roll was dangerous and sex was safe!

Ted could calm the rhetoric down a bit, but no true rocker can deny his impact on the scene. Now go back to your occupy movements, you lazy welfare-taking toolbags.

One of the greatest guitarists ever. Always had an ego, even before he started talking politics. It affected his relationship w/ Derek St Holmes back in the day (DSH helped him write his best stuff). Now that Nuge likes to talk politics, everybody hates him. If I cared about what musicians thought about politics, I wouldn't listen to heavy metal. I saw Nugent three years ago and he was great. He did one brief rant where he mentioned his political beliefs, and I rolled my eyes. He talked about hunting some too. The rest of the time, he played guitar and totally reminded me of why this guy is a rock legend.

Screw the haters.

Sincerely,
Seasonings in the Abyss
