TODD LA TORRE-Fronted Version Of QUEENSRŸCHE: Nashville Concert Footage Available - Mar. 13, 2013
Fan-filmed video footage of the Todd La Torre-fronted version of QUEENSRŸCHE performing on March 12 at Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville, Tennessee can be seen below.

The band's setlist was as follows:

01. Queen Of The Reich
02. Speak
03. Walk In The Shadows
04. The Whisper
05. En Force
06. Child Of Fire
07. Warning
08. The Needle Lies
09. Roads To Madness
10. I Don't Believe In Love
11. My Empty Room
12. Eyes Of A Stranger

Encore:

13. Silent Lucidity
14. Empire

QUEENSRŸCHE has inked a deal with Century Media Records for the release of the band's new studio album. Due on June 11, the CD marks the debut release from the lineup comprised of La Torre (vocals; ex-CRIMSON GLORY), Michael Wilton (guitar), Parker Lundgren (guitar), Eddie Jackson (bass) and Scott Rockenfield (drums). The drums for the album were recorded at London Bridge Studios in Seattle, Washington with producer James "Jimbo" Barton — the man who engineered and mixed the band's classic 1988 LP, "Operation: Mindcrime", and its 1990 follow-up, "Empire", and co-produced 1994's "Promised Land". The rest of the music and vocals were laid down at several different facilities on the West Coast.

"QUEENSRŸCHE is excited to begin writing this next chapter of our career with Century Media. Their passion and love for music has been apparent since early discussions and we are pleased to call them partners on this journey," states Jackson. "We are also thankful for all of the fans who have supported us from day one and helped us get to where we are today. Todd, Scott, Parker, Michael and I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for each and every one of you."

QUEENSRŸCHE drummer Scott Rockenfield tells Billboard.com: "Century Media has been extremely enthusiastic ever since they came into the equation with us, and for what it's worth it's hard to find enthusiasm like that. After 35 years I guess I'm gracious and honored that we have people that are that enthusiastic about the band, so we're really happy about moving forward with them."

Century Media president of North America Don Robertson wrote in an email to Billboard.com about the label's interest in the band: "Many of us at the label have been longtime fans of QUEENSRŸCHE as a band. When we heard they were recording a new record, we were all definitely interested."

In a recent interview with Metal Assault, Rockenfield stated about QUEENSRŸCHE's renewed collaboration with Barton: "It's a great thing — we're really excited about it, he's really excited about it. We've wanted to work with him for a while, but for whatever reason, we just hadn't gone there yet. This is a great time for us to do that, though. We all discussed who we wanted to do the record with, and he was one of the first names that came up. It was easy for us to pick up the phone and call him. It was like our relationship picked up right where it left off, so it's gonna be a lot of fun. He's a very creative guy that did some great records with us in the past. I think that's one of the most important things when it comes to why we want to work with him."

Asked if fans will see a return to the progressive metal sound QUEENSRŸCHE had in the '80s, Scott said: "What we're trying to do, and what has been really interesting since Todd has jumped into the band, we're trying to revisit the old QUEENSRŸCHE catalog — stuff off of the EP and "The Warning". That's always been a part of what we are, so yeah, definitely! I think in my opinion, we're really revisiting that vibe of why that music was special back then for us. There will be a modern flair to it, though, just because we're in the modern age. The fun thing about Jimbo being a part of it is that he can help tie together the two sides. He does come from our past and some of the great records and some of the great sounds that we're known for, but he's also living in the modern age and doing some interesting things as well. I think it's going to be a really great QUEENSRŸCHE record. People are going to go, 'Wow, that's QUEENSRŸCHE! That sounds just like what we've known them to be, and what we would expect them to now be.' That's what I think peple will get out of it."

I love this!

I've been checking out all of the video clips that keep getting posted since Todd joined the band. I think he's doing a great job, considering many older Queensryche songs are extremely difficult to sing. He's definitely putting A LOT more effort into trying to sing the songs properly than Geoff has done for the past few years.

Also, Mike, Eddie and Scott sound great and actually look like they're having fun playing these songs again. If you check out videos from the last few years with Geoff, they looked like they were going through the motions and would rather be doing something else.

This band looks and sounds reborn.

I can't wait to hear the new music they put out in a few months.

Ahhh, that wasn't that good. Granted, they are a lot better than Tate's version, but the depth and energy to their sound is just so shallow. This is a terrible situation for one of the greatest bands ever.

I think he was sick. His lower octave range still sounds way better than Tate. But I agree at this stage with everyone analyzing the two versions to death, he really should strive for perfection, and not sing if sick....but I suppose the show must go on. All this does is give ammunition to the Tate camp. Let the attacks begin.

Yes, the songs are difficult to sing true to the original and this new guys is really working at it. Hope his voice holds up...looks like he's really working dem 'chords. And it's just 'Queensryche", not Queensryche with special guest artiste GT.

STFU Geoff is a asssssssshole. I met his brother in law around Rage For Order era and his brother in law told me straight up that Geoff was hard to work with back then and had the my way or the highway additude. Hes always had a ego head trip im the band additude. Geoff also hit up on my friends wife at the time while my friend was out getting him shit to stuff up his nose, guess what my friend knocked his ass over a coffee table with one punch, as my friend said i knocked him out of his snakeskin boots. Geoff hasnt put one snippet out why because he knows if he does nobody will buy it. While Geoff is a great singer, he just cant hit the notes he once could. Thats the real reason he didnt wanna sing those songs anymore. Thats the reason he pushed for mellower music. But really what sunk his boat wasnt his inabillity to sing those songs but his horrid additude and his SPITTING on and abusing his fellow band mates and abusing their trust by doing shady busniess deals behind the other members backs. Him allowing his wife to Illegally run another band through the bands books. Really wake up and smell the poo from Geoffs butt that you have on your nose from it being so far up his arse.

sick on stage and singing at maybe 60% is still MUCH better than Geoff Tate.

The band sounds great, and no they should not cancel shows because he is sick and will be compared to Tate. That is fucking stupid to even suggest. The show must go on and he did a great job.

Truth is, after everything Geoff Tate has done and said in the news since he was fired and what he has done to the band over the last decade - it's nice to have someone likeable singing for Queensryche. Geoff Tate is kinda ruined for me.

I don't get all the praise being heaped on this guy. For these songs he is average at best. I would take a 50% Tate over a 100% LaTorre any day. That being said I will not pay money to see either version, collectively they tarnished the brand. Last time I saw Queensryche with Tate they sold out a 3000 capacity venue, neither version will sell half that many tickets.

Also it is pretty clear that link above is legitimate. I have been saying from the beginning can't hit the high notes and it now appears they are using tricks to hide it, i.e. backing tracks and last clip of Take Hold of the Flame I saw they used a ton of echo. All you fools can waste your money on this, I for one will not. I also find it kind of curious with all these recent shows they haven't busted out one new track. You would think with all this supposed pride in the material they would want to show it off a little bit.

Accusations of playback? Give me a break!

Do you even realize what complete fools you people are making yourselves look like. Stop digging!

The most hilarious part of this is that one moment you whine about La Torre going on stage sick (still sounding light years better than anything Tate can muster these days) - and then you turn around and want to tell us that he's using playback on his leads??? Then why didn't he use it in Nashville, genius!?!

This is the Tate camp going in complete panic mode.

Can't wait til the court date in November when this travesty will be put to an end - and good riddance!

Come on - vote me down, bots! I'm buying the new Queensryche, not that lump or excrement Tate wants to dump on people.

Saw the show - there was about 400 people out of a capacity of about 1500. [pretty ambitious booking, but I suppose not a lot of options - sparse crowd hurt the atmosphere]. LaTorre sounded pretty good - great in spots - until the last 1/3 of the show. He was struggling with one of his in ear monitors most of the night, and presumably had a cold.

He has about as much showmanship as Tate - i.e., not all that much - but enough to keep us interested. He's likeable. He's got good energy. When he hit the high notes the crowd was pumped.

Band was tight - I was very impressed.

Was great to see them for $20 bucks - got within 10 feet of stage. Disappointed that they didn't play Take Hold of the Flame, which would have brought their set to about 90 minutes.

Recommend checking them out.

It saddens me to hear these gospels of truth, these pillars of musical genius, butchered in this fashion. The Illuminated One (AKA Geoff Tate) is the only voice worthy of singing these songs (hallowed be his voice). Anyone else singing these songs threatens to incur the Wrath of the Almighty with their warbling renditions.

The Whisper, indeed. Open your ears and let the music soar.

I bet he regrets, beating their chest about not needing to tune down. So much pressure and hard work for $600 bucks per week.

The wonderful thing about Geoff Tate (hallowed be his voice), is that it sounds as melodic, deep, and heart-felt know as it ever did in the past. In fact, I would argue that Geoff Tate sounds better now than he did during Queensryche's "prime". The years have been kind to Tate, and his voice represents a life spent entertaining hundreds of thousands of fans. You can hear it in ever slight utterance, every wonderful tone that vibrates its way out of his vocal cords. It's a truly wonderful audio landscape to journey across. I hope everyone joins him.

The Illuminated One will take us all into the future and glide across the musical planes of life and happiness. "Frequency Unknown" indeed, for Geoff Tate (The Illuminated One) himself hath expressed vocal prowess even now that is too beautiful to exist.

Tate's art is indefensible so you might as well wanna try to legitimate its painful existence by depreciating someone else's job.

What makes it even more pathetic is the fact that you pretend not to know how backing tracks on a live concert work. So I'll take my time and explain it to you. Those are vocal harmonies that were pre-recorded to add depth to the vocals during the performance. They're not there to substitute the main vocal lines, so there is no lipsync intended as you suggested.

Yet, that's something Tate probably never did in his solo tour, since that band was so fucking awful that they weren't able to keep the right tempo straight through a song, and when the backing tracks of the chorus were supposed to be triggered, the band would still be playing the bridge.

are too funny about this QR stuff.

You hide behind your keyboard and rag on someone for liking Tate's QR. And the same goes for people bitching about Todd's QR. It is what it is. Support the QR you like, go to their shows buy their stuff. Why bother ragging online to someone you will never see or meet? A waste of energy. Be more productive.

You know what the sad thing is? Tate has been doing this his entire career, Todd's only been singing a few years.

So what if he's straining a litte bit, even world class vocalists like Pavaratti would from time to time. It happens.

But Todd doesn't strain as much as Tate does these days.
