Video: STEVEN ADLER And DUFF MCKAGAN Perform GUNS N' ROSES Classics In Japan - Mar. 8, 2013
DUFF MCKAGAN'S LOADED, the band led by VELVET REVOLVER/ex-GUNS N' ROSES bassist Duff McKagan, and ADLER, which features in its ranks GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler, joined forces for two shows in Japan on March 7-8 at Duo Music Exchange in Shibuya.

McKagan and Adler took turns making guest appearances in each other's sets at the March 7 concert. The bassist turned up during ADLER's show to perform the classic track "Sweet Child O' Mine"while the drummer sat behind the kit during LOADED's set on "It's So Easy". Check out video footage below.

DUFF MCKAGAN'S LOADED's latest album, "The Taking", was released in April 2011 via Eagle Rock Entertainment. The CD landed at position No. 12 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

ADLER's debut album, "Back From The Dead", was released in North America on November 26 via New Ocean Media. The CD was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Jeff Pilson (FOREIGNER, DOKKEN) and was mixed by Jay Ruston (ANTHRAX, STONE SOUR).

ADLER is comprised of Adler, Bunton, guitarist Lonny Paul (ADLER'S APPETITE), and bassist Johnny Martin (CHELSEA SMILES).

That's what it's all about. Going out there and playing songs for a crowd that wants to hear it.

None of this 20 years per album, 2 hours late per show, replacing guys like they don't matter bullshit.

Fuck you Axhole.

Again, good for you Steven. You are showing the world you are GETTING clean. No one walks away from your life and does not have an "urge" here and there to go out and say "One moire time..." Such a lie and we both know it. Bottom line is you are choosing music over drugs. Keep up the good work!!

Wow, gotta admit, they did a FANTASTIC job on Sweet Child! I prefer their version far more than Axl's new band.

Adler's guy sings the songs a hell of a lot better than Weiland or Slash's guy. Keep it up.

Seriously impressed Steven, good for you.

Not a huge fan of G and R but this was pretty good :P I was most impressed that they could find a microphone stand that would extend long enough to cater to Duff's impressive neckage.

Slash, Duff and Adler still rock like in the old days - they do it for the love of music, for their fans, for some money to pay the bills. They're not a huge corporate machine like Axl (and his "hacks" (quoting Adler) who obviously doesn't pay attention as to what the fans would really like to experience and that is the reunion of the real GNR.

I bet that if these guys truly sat down in some relaxed environment and really talked their shit through, they would find the old charm again. As they don't speak to each other, Axl and the rest of the real GNR, they will never find out how little their problems actually are. If they just had the sense of dealing with the little and meager shit out, kill the long gone animosities and then play together, they would experience a revelation worth of countless dollars.

Why is it necessary to express appreciation for one side and bag on the other?

It's possible to, you know, appreciate what everyone has to offer without choosing sides and making this some political bullshit.

Look no further than Duff himself. Or Izzy, for that matter.

... Duff and Adler have as much right as Axl to play those tunes. Nicely done, and the fans got to see something cool.

Damn...that version of SCoM was absolutely fantastic. I didn't realize that Bunton was as proficient on the guit-fiddle as he was. Outstanding rendition of a great song.

It's so good to see both Duff and Steven healthy and happy, doing their thing for the fans that want to hear their stuff...new and old.

As for the band Adler...I was very happy with their debut release. After the "single" came out, I was definitely a first week buyer and the entire album did not disappoint one bit. I highly recommend picking it up and supporting a great band.

If faced with the choice (Axhole ar Adler/Loades) in town the same night NO DOUBT I would go to Adler/Loaded..They sound raw and real, unlilke the other poser's cover band.

I can't believe how many times Axl's name got mentioned in relation to the news that doesn't even concern.

A whole lot of people wants the current band to be ignored and I've seen hunders of appeals not to go to a GN'R show.

Let's put personal preference aside and I'll explain something to you. As long as Axl gets 50+ comments and Slash gets 5-10 and as long as Axl is mentioned numerous times in every GN'R related story regarding the original band or subsequent members you guys are all Axl's bitches. Open your fucking eyes.

If only the rest of the guys hadn't signed away the rights to the name, we could pull in this kid from Adler and get Slash, Steve, and Duff and have Guns and Roses #2 out on the road, hey, it would be better then the 2 Queensryches and 2 Great Whites.

It's great to see and hear you on the other side of addiction: doing what you do best - playing the drums like only you can. Keep up the great work. Cheers.
