Psychologist: LAMB OF GOD Frontman Has Problems Controlling His Emotions - Mar. 4, 2013
According to WTVR, LAMB OF GOD frontman Randy Blythe's manslaughter trial in Prague, Czech Republic resumed earlier today (Monday, March 4) after court was adjourned last month due to missing witnesses.

Blythe is facing the possibility of conviction and a long-term jail sentence after a May 2010 incident in which a fan, Daniel Nosek, who attended a LAMB OF GOD performance in Prague, died almost a month later, allegedly from injuries sustained when he was thrown off the stage.

A criminal psychologist appointed by the court, Tereza Soukupova, said that Blythe, during tests, demonstrated he had problems controlling his emotions. She said these features "were not deep" and that he was not mentally ill, but that he doesn’t take enough responsibility for his own actions, sometimes "crossing social norms." She pointed to when Blythe was fined for speeding and urinating in public when he was younger.

A second criminal psychiatrist, Alena Gayova, who was appointed by the defense, said Blythe didn't display any permanent "socially promiscuous" behavioral patterns. Even when in jail, when aggressive/anti-social behavior might be understandable, Gayova said Blythe showed normal results. She added he was not "overly aggressive."

Also testifying today was an eyewitness, Anna Rozsivalova, who said Daniel attempted to climb the barrier to get onto the stage, but as he was pulling himself up, Blythe lifted him by the shoulders and pushed him off with two hands, from the front. She said Daniel fell backwards, and people moved away to avoid being hit.

A three-judge panel said it could deliver a verdict by tomorrow.

The parents of the alleged victim are demanding compensation of 10 million Czech Koruna (approximately $530,000).

Alot of ridiculous "testimony" going on. And a verdict could be passed as early as tomorrow. This is a total sham trial. I hope things work out for Blythe.

He got caught speeding when he was younger?? Wow give him the death penalty. Bullshit case, an outrage. Sucks someone lost their life, but at some point people need to take responsibility for their actions. Kid was drunk climbing on a stage at an extreme metal show. He knew he shouldn't be doing that. He did and died, unfortunate, sad, but nobody's fault, an accident.

Wow, these bastards are really digging for dirt! I have a bad feeling that this court is going to be biased to this testimony. Funny, but I wonder how much emphasis was put on the fact that the fan went into territory he didn't belong. I can't push my way on stage if a politician is giving a speech, why should it be any different with a rock band?

I'm not one to jump to the whole "this whole case is BS" side of things, but some of this stuff is a bit ridiculous. So he has a speeding ticket and once arrested for urinating in public. Not exactly outstanding crimes there. There are much better examples that exist.

As far as the eye witness testimony. I would assume Randy would be a bit busy performing to lift this guy up and push him off with two hands. And I've been in the front of quite a few shows, and granted I'm sure crowds are different everywhere, but I've never had room to move away from anyone coming off stage. There isn't exactly a lot of wiggle room up front. But Czech crowds may differ.

Hopefully the trial goes fairly and isn't propped up by bogus claims.

I find that music taste is highly subjective. What one person might find shitty, however intelligent or otherwise he/she might be, might be wonderful to another person. If a person enjoys Lamb of God and also enjoys Brahms or Mozart, does your theory that a LoG fan cannot recognize "good" music still valid? And what would be considered "good" music in this particular discussion? To dig a little deeper, if I may, the questions it seems are: Does correlation equal causation when it comes to music preference and intelligence? Does favoring a genre or, to narrow the field, a band reflect or impact a person's intelligence? Does a person's level of intelligence dictate what genres/bands he or she may prefer? And lastly, in this case, how are we defining the term "intelligence"? I bring this up only because it can be defined in many ways. (Oh and good luck on your PhD path.)

If the witness is telling the truth and he was pushed off stage, where was the crowd? I'm sorry but crowds break the fall of stage divers, people who go down in the pit get picked up so they're not trampled, etc. But that's not the point.

Pushing someone off of a stage where crowd surfing is common is not an act of violence or a result of 'not being able to control emotions' - that bunk psychological assessment. Has nothing to do with it.

Also, died a month later. It's not like he was in intensive care. If death was a result from head injuries sustained it would've happened a lot sooner. For the sake of argument if you stand there and watch someone 'die' you get sued for negligence. Because he wasn't in critical condition and the accident/fall wasn't fatal there has to be more to what went into his death than trying to pin this on Blythe. Why not put some blame on the neglect of their healthcare system and his family. Oh yeah, not an easy target for ca$h.

If this trial doesn't recognize that:
a) a whole month of unknown behavior by this poor kid means it could have been anything that caused death and
b) Randy is innocent until proven guilty
Then I have no faith in the justice system.

PROVEN. You can't prove anything if nobody he knew gave a shit what he was doing with himself for a month. My condolences go out to his family and friends, it's a terrible tragedy, but I don't think this should be pinned on a man who meant no harm who was just trying to do his job.

Some of you on here are just sooooo dumb....

the point of the speeding and peeing in public is to show his character. He has no regard for the law. He's inconsiderate of some of societies rules in his own country.

And on another note, if Randy grabbed this kid, and threw him backwards because he's "mr. punk rock tough manchild" as he's been seen doing in the past, he deserves to go to jail.

"the point of the speeding and peeing in public is to show his character. He has no regard for the law. He's inconsiderate of some of societies rules in his own country."

I'm sure if the judge had an enriched childhood they could look past this terribly weak argument.

And on another note, if Randy grabbed this kid, and threw him backwards because he's "mr. punk rock tough manchild" as he's been seen doing in the past, he deserves to go to jail.

It's an act, your inability to contain your own envy doesn't bode well for your argument. If he's been seen doing this in the past then
1) It's a security issue (for both patron and performer) that needs to be addressed
or
2) It's not an issue, it hasn't been. It's the norm to dive off of a stage and be caught so your opinion that he deserves to go to jail simply for this does not hold a lot of weight.

You're not addressing the possibility that the head injury wasn't the cause of death, the month between the concert and his death could have introduced any variable that would be determined as the cause of death whether it be neglect to treat an injury, substance abuse, foul play.. People fall and hit their head, accidents happen. If he walked from the concert and didn't die that night than there was no concussion sustained as the cause of death.

Please excuse your character and lack of argument.

and to compare being a live performer as just an act to something else think about Jim Carrey's role in 'dumb and dumber' and then picture him arriving to set with his driver and his assistants. Maybe don't bring your distaste for his role as a performer into your argument, it's discrimination.

Also, how could Randy have reached over the gap between the stage and the barrier? Now I haven't been to any medium/large venues in the Czech Republic, but... in America, the barrier between the fans and stage always leaves a 2 or 3 foot gap for photographers and security to freely walk. How could Randy possibly have had enough leverage to lift anyone over a barrier 2 in front of him? Bath salts?!?
