WHITESNAKE To Release 'Made In Japan' In April - Feb. 13, 2013
Frontiers Records will release WHITESNAKE's highly anticipated live concert, "Made In Japan", on deluxe 2CD/DVD edition, Blu-ray and DVD in North America on Tuesday, April 23.

Multi-platinum rock band WHITESNAKE co-headlined the Loud Park festival on October 15, 2011 at Saitama Super Arena in Japan during their "Forevermore World Tour". The performance was initially recorded for Japanese TV and future Loud Park promotions, but after three songs were broadcast on a Loud Park highlights program in Japan, WHITESNAKE received unprecedented requests for this performance to be made available for general release.

Having spent most of 2012 editing and mixing the Japanese concert in stunning HD as a multi-format DVD-CD in 5.1 and stereo, just prior to commencing the "Year Of The Snake" 2013 world tour, this exceptional performance is a welcome addition to the history of WHITESNAKE live releases. Now fans can relive the irresistible magic of WHITESNAKE in concert any time their heart and loins may desire!

The "Forevermore" songs alone are worth the price of admission, not forgetting the classic WHITESNAKE songs, "Is This Love", "Still Of The Night" and "Here I Go Again", all peformed at the height of their musical powers. It's all here. This is what WHITESNAKE fans, new and old, have been clamouring for. Highlights include blistering guitar work from the band's six string guitar slingers, Doug Aldrich and Reb Beach, who both celebrate their 10th anniversary with the band this year.

WHITESNAKE also features the earth-shaking rhythm section, The Wrecking Crew featuring Michael Devin (bass) and Brian Tichy (drums), who anchor the deep and dirty foundation of WHITESNAKE. The band is accompanied by the swirling sonic tapestries of special guest keyboardist Brian Ruedy, and of course, the chest beating, seductive vocals of front man and founder, David Coverdale.

After hearing the sound check recordings from the different Japanese venues, the band decided to include them in the package as special bonus content. They agreed that everything would be related to their 2011 Japanese tour. So, when you think about it, it is appropriate they've called the project "Made In Japan".

A band should shoot a show in China and release a DVD called made in China.

That belongs in Blabbermouth top 10 hall of fame of the most ridiculously wrong statements.

Even the Taint girls don't say things that stupid and they're pretty bad...LOL

They are one of the best 80's hard rock bands there is. Even the commercial self titled album is fantastic. Forevermore is phenomenal too. Srsly one of my favorite bands around. Surprised they decided to go with that album name though. That's the only Japan related name they could think of.

Why his pic?

Beyond that, this is some good live stuff. The band really kills, and if anyone can give Tommy A a run for his money, it's Brian Tichy. I'm not a huge Whitesnake fan or anything, but I know a good performance when I see one.

This is a great performance.

The group pic probably has nothing to do with the dvd's. Cool cover btw! First a new Maiden live & now this? Gonna have to get both! If only Don Dokken was in as good of shape as Coverdale :(

Fuck you.

Beyond that, Don Dokken???

What's the difference between David Coverdale and Don Dokken.

Coverdale can still sing.

I love Whitesnake. I just wonder how much overdubbing they're gonna have to do to make Coverdale sound decent.

Tommy Aldridge is BACK IN WHITESNAKE!! This is why he's in the picture. he might not have been playing in the dvd, but HELLO..he's the "new" drummer of Whitesnake.

and Made In China would be far more accurate now. Hardly anything outside of great earphones are made in Japan anymore.

How many live albums are named Made In Japan? or Live in Budokan?

" Having spent most of 2012 editing and mixing the Japanese concert in stunning HD as a multi-format DVD-CD in 5.1 and stereo".......

IE: Coverdale's vocals were re-recorded in the studio !! To be expected I suppose but how many "live" concert DVDs are actually live these days ?

Why are people calling Whitesnake an 80's band? They are a 70's band for fucks sakes.

Glad they're releasing a new album/video, love the setlist and the cover is great. But that is just about the last title they should have chosen. But still, it's only a title.

"IE: Coverdale's vocals were re-recorded in the studio !!"

I hope it is. Coverdale's vocals kind of work in a live setting (if you attend the concert), but when you hear recordings of it it's very harsh. So I hope they've made it listenable, and that it rocks.

Coverdale has been re-recording his live vocals ever since Deep Purple's "Made In Europe" anyway, so why stop now?

You're an idiot. Whitesnake were formed in 1978 - the end of the 70's. They only released two albums in the 70's and their biggest album was released in.....

Wait for it....

The 80's.

Now shut.

The fuck.

Up.
