... the follow up was okay, but Vivid was just awesome. Mick Jagger made one hell of a find when he stumbled on these guys at CBGB's.

Awesome cd! My fav track is the last one Which Way To America. That song kicks ass! Didn't they have a connection to Mick Jagger? He got them signed or something?

And really, that solo in Cult is some of the most God awful shit ever recorded. Terrible.
Cory is a killer singer, and the rest of the band are great too, but just because its an old disc doesnt make it great.

its a solid album all the way through, very good. solo or not. Its more of an expressive solo, sort of out of control on purpose. More than old.

Saw a Hendrix tribute tour a few years back. Many great guitar slingers and these guys were the house band!

Vernon is one of the world's most underrated guitarist, he's cool.

Bieber isn't.

I think Jagger did some producing with them and did backups and harp on the album. Living Colour also opened shows for the Stones on the Steel Wheels Tour.

the story goes that Vernon played on one of Jagger's solo disc. he told jagger his band Living Colour was playing at CBGBs and that he should stop by. Jagger did! he dug what he heard and saw and told the band he wanted to produce their demo.

he did just that and helped them get a deal with Epic records...Living Colour then went on to open for the Stones Steel Wheels tour!

They're black and they can be one hit wonders just like Twisted Sister. Get over it.

try listening to their 2 first discs, both very good all the way though, twisted sister? you obviously never listened. Cult might be one of the lesser tunes...listened and don't like, fine, but at least come from a place of some knowledge.

their 2nd & 3rd albums are great, too. all 3 albums are very different from one another. they were like zeppelin, in that aspect.

I remember these guys went on Saturday Night Live when they released this album and put on a killer performance. Next day I rode my bike to the 'record' store' and bought the cassette. That is what it's all about. Wish I could find that SNL performance online but it's been tucked away.

Goddamn Will Calhoun's drumming is off the charts! The way he incorporates his jazz and classical training/experience into LC's heavy music and makes it fit so well together.... damn. As a drummer myself I just have to look up to this guy! Not to mention Vernon Reid's vocal prowess. Awesome band!
