Former NIGHTWISH Singer ANETTE OLZON Releases Demo Version Of New Solo Track - Feb. 11, 2013
Former NIGHTWISH singer Anette Olzon has posted a two-minute audio snippet of a demo version of a new solo track called "Falling". Check it out in the YouTube clip below.

Olzon in 2011 released two demo tracks that she recorded in 2009 for what was supposed to become her debut solo album. She said at the time, "The songs are not mixed or produced, just recorded in the moment, and therefore are very rough songs. But I still want you to hear them since I am proud of them and I think they show another part of me than you hear in NIGHTWISH." She added, "The first song is called 'Floating' and I call it the 'circus' song. It gives me a happy feeling and the vibe in it is happy and joyful. The second song ['Invincible'] is a song I wrote for my son and therefore it's very special to me."

Olzon announced in April 2011 that she decided to push back the tentative release date of her debut solo album to after NIGHTWISH had completed touring in support of its then-yet-to-be-released new studio album, "Imaginarium".

Olzon worked on material for her solo CD in 2009 with Swedish producers Stefan Örn and Johan Glössner. The album was slated to be co-produced by Swedish producer/songwriter Anders Bagge, who has previously worked with MADONNA, CELINE DION, JANET JACKSON and JESSICA SIMPSON, among others. He was also one of judges on the Swedish TV talent competition "Idol" and a producer of the TV series "Made in Sweden".

Olzon in 2009 hired a personal manager — the Swedish management company Hagenburg Management, which also represents EUROPE and THE CARDIGANS.

Olzon abruptly left NIGHTWISH last September in the middle of the band's North American tour. She has since been replaced on the road by former AFTER FOREVER and current REVAMP singer Floor Jansen.

Her voice is fine. You all can drop the act, because it's okay to be gay.

This pace suits her voice well, she didn't fit in with Nightwish's quicker songs. I wish her well.

It was a mutual split according to both parties, probably had something to do with her being pregnant and due fairly soon.

No Bill Ward = No Tarja!

Sounds like ABBA for the 21st century... only without the musical/interesting harmonies that the "Mamma Mia" crew might have offered...

And Anette's hair colorist should have an INTERPOL warrant out for his/her arrest. Follow the Yellow Brick Road? No, thanks...

So bad. So generic.

I hate Nightwish, but it's so good to see them with Floor, who is a fucking amazing singer.

Also, I never realized her nose is all weird and reminds me of the old man in Poltergeist.

I'm so glad to see some positivity here, because, yeah, this song isn't bad at all, and her performance is actually pretty great. Anette has always had a really nice mid-to-low range, and it seems she's writing material that plays to that particular strength. Good on her; I wish her only the best.

Oh, and I agree with what others have said here - she needs to go heavy.

Sounds like Celene Dion / Cher-like crap. It's obvious she is done with metal, and is now just an adult contemporary pop singer.

Anette is following Tarja.Nice voices but awful songs.
Anette is Tarja number 2.Still Anette has better voice than many female heavy singers. And c´mon there is no such thing like "fired by mutual agreement" and I doubt very much that she would quit, ever.
And you know what ? Tarja and Annete are fine girls,Perhaps they´d not want to be some band member´s girlfriends, so they put them away:I´d do the same thing. One hand hepls the other.Tarja said that they the guys and her weren´t very close at all, perhaps because she didn´t want to be closer to any of the guys.Perhaps she tought they weren´t good enough for her.I don´t see any of the guys disliking any of the girls.
