DEFTONES Frontman Interviewed By NIKKI SIXX (Audio) - Feb. 9, 2013
DEFTONES frontman Chino Moreno made an in-studio appearance last week on the "Sixx Sense" radio show hosted by MÖTLEY CRÜE/SIXX: A.M. bassist Nikki Sixx. You can now listen to the chat below.

During the "Sixx Sense" interview, Chino revealed that DEFTONES is compiling a live vinyl set spanning the band's entire career. He said: "The last week and a half, I've been having to go through all these tapes," he said. "We're putting out a live vinyl set. For every record, we're going to put out like four or five songs from that time, that era. So I've been going through all these tapes from '95-'96 and they're hard to listen to… Like, seriously, I really feel we've gotten better as a band and me as a vocalist."

DEFTONES released several different vinyl editions of its current album, the critically acclaimed "Koi No Yokan", on January 22. The four configurations are as follows: a standard retail version pressed on 140-gram black vinyl (3,000 units); a direct-to-consumer version on 180-gram black vinyl with foil-stamped numbered jackets (1,000 units); an international edition pressed on 180-gram vinyl; and an exclusive edition sold through Hot Topic retailers pressed on 140-gram clear-colored vinyl (1,500 units).

"Koi No Yokan", the band's seventh studio album, was released November 13, 2012 via Warner Bros Records. It debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, with over 65,000 copies sold first week. Revolver declared it their "Album of the Year," Spin selected it as one of its Top 50 Albums of 2012 (and its No. 5 Metal Album Of The Year), the New York Post hailed it as "one of the best rock albums of the year," and Penthouse said "If you hear an album this year that combines the ferocious and the sublime as well as DEFTONES' 'Koi No Yokan', please write us an email and flag it 'urgent.'"

DEFTONES is gearing up for a spring headlining tour in support of "Koi No Yokan" that kicks off in Toronto on March 1.

They've outdone themselves the past 3 albums and Koi No Yokan is amazing. Can't wait to hear EROS when they finally release the studio version.

I didn't think Chino could get any cooler, he rocks a members only jacket.

I love everything they've done, and it took a while for Saturday Night Wrist to kick in on me, but I think the reason people discredit that album so much is because it was super progressive for the band (not in a progressive-metal way, but just growing and extending your sound). Great stuff from Deftones, always. I feel that Koi No Yokan is a more solid version of SNW. imo.

The only albums I really like by this band are Adrenaline and Around The Fur. The other albums all have their moments. But they got a bit too experimental for my liking. But I respect them for what they do.

Like the new album but don't think it's super amazing. Personally a fan of White Pony and Diamond Eyes over the other records, but each album does have a handful of great songs
