SLASH: 'Anastasia' Video Released - Feb. 5, 2013
"Anastasia", the new video from legendary guitarist Slash's (VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N' ROSES), can be seen below. The song comes off his second solo album, "Apocalyptic Love", which sold around 38,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 4 on The Billboard 200 chart.

Slash's self-titled debut album scored the highest new entry on The Billboard 200 chart in April 2010, with first-week U.S. sales of around 60,000 copies.

The former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist is now releasing his music through his own label, Dik Hayd Records, and The Pulse Of Radio asked him how that compares to working with major labels in the past. "It's really enabling me to make records and be able to put them out myself so I don't have to do the gamble with the big record companies," he said. "Now as far as like the glory days of the record business, that's something — yeah, I mean, you can miss it, but it's changed so much and most of the companies have turned into such conglomerates, it's pointless to really sort of miss the old days 'cause they're long gone."

Unlike Slash's solo debut, which featured different vocalists on each track and a number of guest musicians, Slash has recorded all of the new CD with his touring band, MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS.

Kennedy also sang with Slash and other former members of GUNS N' ROSES when the band was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in April 2012.

"Apocalyptic Love" track listing:

01. Apocalyptic Love
02. One Last Thrill
03. Standing In The Sun
04. You're A Lie
05. No More Heroes
06. Halo
07. We Will Roam
08. Anastasia
09. Not For Me
10. Bad Rain
11. Hard & Fast
12. Far And Away
13. Shots Fired

One of the better tracks from the album. Better than You're A Lie anyway.

Apocalyptic Love is one of the best albums of 2012. You wanted rock n roll, you got it. Good video.

Wow, I'm surprised. Even though he easily is one of the most overrated guitarist in rock history, this huge chunk of cheese came in slightly unexpected. hats off.

Please, please, please let the new Alter Bridge become hugely popular, so that Myles is kept far far away from Saul.

but it's still bland. The beginning sound like a gay version of Silver wings from Bruce Dickinson.

Poor Slash. No great songs since 1991.

He should retire and end his downfall already.

As for Myles Kennedy, he has the most annoying rock voice ever.

Everyone knows that you don't like Slash.

No great songs since 1991? Apparently you haven't been listening. Both Snakepit albums, Velvet Revolver albums, and his two solo albums trump Chinese Democracy.

You, sir, are full of shit.

Apocalyptic Love, Anastasia is easily my favourite track. But easily the best track musically on the album.

Shame about the video, would've worked better if the track was the live one from said concert.

The album as a whole didn't real do it for me. It didn't stick around my playlist that long. I wanted to like it. This song is ok but yes Myles' voice certainly does get annoying after awhile.

I'll take the Adler album over this any day.

1- I meant Broken by Bruce Dickinson, not Silver wings.

2- zbtrocker. Slash had some good songs since 1991, but not great. His songwriting is at L.A. Guns level, maybe.

typical closed minded LeDieu posts. IF its not epic, its not worth releasing? Like most guitarist, Slash is the riffs and the rock in roll in his band, GnR, such as a Keith Richards, Joe PErry, etc. The singers come up with the grandious songs. The November Rains, which was Axls. That was one side of GnR, as were their 3 minute rockers...today, Axl is a drift.

for my money, Estranged is a great epic tune, November Rain a painfully over produced and silly song that Slash saves with the end solo. Axl's voice is horrendous on November Rain. Its a candy ass power ballad. Where Estranged is a well written slow tempo'd song.

Slash has many good songs post GnR, more on the straight up rock side. A song like Serial Killer could be considered more epic....

I love your comment on "yes Axl takes more time to release music, but he could do tons of Slash type albums". oh really? "More time". ONE fucking record Le Dieu in 20 years and counting. Released because the record label demanded. IT would still be on the shelf otherwise. Axl's done...and those "epic" songs on Chin dem? Epic? Because they are long? Street of Dreams? please. Axl needs Slash just as much as you think Slash needs him. Axl is aimless.

yeah, Slash is ripping off a Solo Bruce Dickenson song, ok.

I've never been a Slash fan, or even a GNR fan, but the new album is great.

Myles Kennedy is the best thing that has happened to Slash since he left GNR.

That was a good song The solo at the end was bad ass!

The singer was good but they need someone with more of a growl.

E~
