'Lick It Up' With Legendary Rockers KISS During Their Upcoming Australian Tour - Feb. 4, 2013
Iconic Australian ice cream brand Peters has joined forces with legendary rock giants KISS to make their upcoming "Monster" tour even sweeter by bringing back the famous Peters KISS "Thunderbolt" ice block.

In February, Peters will relaunch their widely popular 1980s KISS "Thunderbolt" ice block to coincide with KISS' "Monster" tour in Australia celebrating the band's 40th anniversary. Peters and KISS will be encouraging KISS fans to "lick it up" while stocks last and rock out at a concert in their local city.

Alicia Munday, Peters marketing manager, said: "The original KISS ice block was such a hit when it first launched that we knew we had to bring it back at some stage. When KISS announced that they were starting their global KISS 'Monster' tour in Australia, we knew we had to make it happen.

"We know the comeback of this ice block will conjure up a sense of nostalgia and excitement for new and old fans and expect the Peters KISS 'Thunderbolt' to be a sellout success."

KISS frontman Paul Stanley is excited by the partnership and can’t wait to "lick it up" Down Under.

"Getting a chance to revisit our first time here through this awesome Aussie project gives us a taste of Kissteria and all that made us a phenomenon back then," he said.

Gene Simmons, KISS bassist and co-founder, revealed: "I still have 12 original boxes of the ice blocks from the 1980s."

The Peters KISS "Thunderbolt" ice block is a triple threat of three flavors that will take you straight back to childhood — lemonade, raspberry and cola.

The Peters KISS "Thunderbolt" ice block will be one of the first products to be released under Peters' new Australian ownership and part of a renewed commitment to creating products that Australians want.

The Peters KISS "Thunderbolt" ice block is available exclusively in Caltex outlets from Wednesday, February 6 and Coles supermarkets from Wednesday, February 13 until sold out.

As far as Gene Simmons is concerned, no. If there is any money that can be made, he's not above doing it.

Deceiving headline. I saw them as a kid at radio city on the lick it up tank tour. Don't know who the bullshit artists are, but KISS died a looooooong time ago

The ice cream company is called "Peter's" and this is the second time "Peter" has missed being included on the box? :)

Why does food and drinks seem to be more important to bands than music these days? Just fucking play your instrument.

Lemmy has inoperable tumours (totally made that up right now) which is why Motorhead is cashing in on their name. Kiss was, is and will be corporate rock and that is always about making more money to the detriment of everything else.

I think this is just further proof that KISS are truly dedicated to their fans. They went the extra mile to give the fans popsicles.

It might cost your life savings to buy a box, but it's only the BEST quality for the fans.

Little known fact: Peter Criss actually founded Peter's Ice Cream Co. in Australia in 1978 right around the time he was considering leaving Kiss. He wanted to diversify his monies and also loved delicious ice cream treats. It was a huge success, especially in Australia (where people are really really slow). That is how Kiss got their own Ice Cream pops. Peter Criss makes 99.8% of the profits off of these.

It would be nice if he did. However if that were so the other two pricks would never go for it.

This time Paul seems to be fully on board with this which leads me to think that KISS is losing market power... BADLY. They need sponsorship to fuel their tours. It looks like double bill headlining acts are not enough... but hey, what the fuck, this IS **cough*cough** the best KISS lineup, right Gene/Paul????????
Could be dead wrong of course but what I smell is possibly a reconciliation with Ace and Peter and another reunion, it's what the fans both current and former truly want anyway.

i used to be a big Kiss fan but another Ace and Peter reunion i couldn't care less. what would maybe get me on board is a make-up less reunion with Vinnie or Bruce.

I had these back in 1980. I was 7 years old. They were awesome!! I went to Coles supermarket tonight and they didn't have any!! I was PISSED OFF!!!!

They just released the KISS Beer here in Australia as well. I went to the bottle shop to get a slab and guess what?!! It's Eric & Tommy on the packaging. FUCK THAT!! So I turned around and walked out. I'm boycotting the beer. And if I turn up to Coles again tomorrow and they have em but those 2 dickheads are on the packaging I'm gonna piff em on the ground and STOMP on them all!!!!

KISS are the Kings of marketing. Not only did they release one of the best albums of 2012, "Monster", but they also give fans what they want. If that happens to be ice cream, so be it.

Meet and greets for under 5s, Hey Kitty toys, lollipops, KISS M&Ms etc etc Gene and Paul really love little kids, coz the shite they dish up to us old fans from the 70s these days doesn't get the same care and attention. We get any old slop as anyone who just saw The Tour will testify.
They should have branded Monster with some kiddy trap might have sold a few. I guess back in the day, I'd shield my girlfriend from dirty Gene, I now shield my grandson. Says it all.

No not and idiot and not a fan circa 2013, a fan who stumbled across KISS by collecting their bubble gum cards in 79 / 80, which got me into the music, and I've been an avid fan ever since.

So yeah, the iceblocks are a cool throwback for us Aussie fans who were around enjoying them back in the day and yes, better than the Destroyer reissue, but only because we never received the 2nd disc containing demos and rarities we were initially promised.

But really, thanks for your thoughts.

Bad luck then cobba, you've got no chance of Parasite unless you pay $1500 for a meet and greet and beg them to do an acoustic version. What you'll get is 4 songs off Monster which 6500 of you have bought ( don't you like it ) and the usual 'hits'. The irony is that all these dudes so pro KISS 2013 don't buy the music and want to hear music from the originals or even the 80s incarnation. There's very little interest in modern KISS its an exercise in misguided nostalgia. I guess $889 to meet the Crüe is a bargain, and you are actually meeting the real thing too.
