Audio: Swedish Pop Singer Covers BLACK SABBATH's 'Air Dance' - Jan. 28, 2013
Swedish female singer/songwriter Lisa Ljungberg has recorded a cover version of the BLACK SABBATH song "Air Dance" for her newly released album "Seven Seas". The CD is available through Haywire Recordings and can be purchased on iTunes, CD Baby and LisaLjungberg.net.

Ljungberg's rendition of "Air Dance" can be streamed in the YouTube clip below.

Lisa Ljungberg is a singer and pianist from Gothenburg, Sweden. She is a renowned musician and songwriter who has worked with many national and international acts.

In 2010, Lisa began recording her debut solo album. An eclectic mix of jazzy ballads, soul and acoustic pop made up the core of her album "Pretty Good Life". Lisa sang and played passionately with lyrical subjects referring to her own experiences in life.

In 2011, the single "Don't You Wanna Know" was released. This song has enjoyed quite a bit of airplay on various radio stations and was a competitor in the songwriting contest, "Svensktoppen Nästa", held on Sweden’s radio P4.

In 2012 the single "Short Stories" was released.

It's 2013 and "Seven Seas" is out. This album is more upbeat than its predecessor but is as diverse as ever, with blues/jazz ballads, catchy pop hooks, modern country and even a rockabilly song. Lisa and co-writer/producer Leif Larsson were once again in charge behind the board.

Suddenly everyone loves Never Say Die because that guy wore the t-shirt in the Avengers movie.

If you think this chick covered this song becuase of a T-Shirt then I think you're nuts. I think anyone who has heard Black Sabbath made their mind up about Never Say Die a long time ago. And if some guy in a movie can get younger generations into Black Sabbath then I ain't complaining.

Haha, I forgot about that tune, been a long time.

That beginning riff tells me Iommi was listening to some New Wave around that time....

But the best part of "Air Dance" is the jazz section towards the end where Iommi's guitar and Airey's keys/synth runs compliment and sometimes mirror each other ..... to me, that's the best part of this song and in my opinion makes this a hidden jem of a song on a otherwise over-looked album by Sabbath.

That's missing here, but then again, it's a pop cover version and it's a damn good one at that.

Sounds really good. Always liked Air Dance off Never Say Die! Vastly underrated/forgotten song gem. Sabbath should play it live again on their next tour.

Really good cover choice, decent execution if a little vanilla.

Listening to NSD right now for first time in years and feeling the great vibe. Love the departures, the piano, the backing singers, the jazz breaks, the stomping metal (wow - Shockwave!), the emotion (Juniors Eyes). Uneven but great album!!

maybe they didnt get the "albums" perfect on technical ecstasy or never say die--so they say

but they were still "hitting it"

they were still going forward--

this song is as good as anything else they ever did--

there are some other really good ones on those albums to

I envy Sweden. Their pop music still has musical instruments and actual singing.

Cool cover. I like that she kept Ozzy's original melodies on the vocals. Made me want to listen to Never Say Die, which I've said for years is my favorite of the latter Sabbath albums (the ones after Vol. 4).

Not bad for pop, but it sounds very relaxed and happy. The original is a lot more melancholic. Which is funny because the instrumentation is very close to the original (save for the cut jazzy ending).

One of the only notable songs of that album. Cool that a pop singer is covering it.

It's great she's doing this, but does her version remind anyone else of Banarama's "It's a cruel.. cruel summer"?

I love to see that both NSD and TE are getting more recognition these days.
