DEE SNIDER's 'Rock & Roll Roast': Red-Carpet Interview Footage Posted Online - Jan. 25, 2013
A host of rockers and comedians took aim at TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider last night (Thursday, January 24) at the second annual Rock & Roll Roast comedy series. The exclusive event took place at The Grove in Anaheim, California was aired live on AXS TV.

Last year's honoree, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY guitarist Zakk Wylde, returned to the scene of the crime Thursday night, however, as a member of the celebrity dais. He was joined by fellow Rock & Roll Roast vets Scott Ian of ANTHRAX, comedian Jim Norton and "That Metal Show" co-host Jim Florentine. The dais was rounded out by rocker Lita Ford, "That Metal Show" co-host Eddie Trunk, comedian Craig Gass and Snider's son, comedian and actor Shane Snider. Jose Mangin of SiriusXM and "Headbanger’s Ball" fame was the evening’s DJ. The night also included video roasts by Donald Trump, Alice Cooper, "Weird Al" Yankovic, Sebastian Bach, STEEL PANTHER, Playboy Playmate Brande Roderick, "Gene Simmons" and wrestler and FOZZY frontman Chris Jericho.

Fans were able to follow the action and one-liners live via Guitar World and Revolver's Twitter feeds (#DEEROAST) and watch the event live on AXS TV. A portion of the proceeds will benefit MusiCares, a nonprofit organization of The Recording Academy that provides emergency financial assistance and addiction recovery resources to music people in need.

Actor Mark Metcalf (Neidermeyer from "Animal House") kicked things off by reprising his famous "Whaddya want to do with your life?" speech and introducing Snider, the dais and roastmaster Penn Jilette.

"Good evening, everyone. I'm Penn Jilette, a third-rate magician, here to roast Dee Snider, a fourth-rate musician," said Jilette as he kicked off his set. "This motley crew — sorry, Dee, I didn't mean to mention a real rock and roll band — hasn't seen a television camera or a Weight Watchers meeting since they invented cellphones."

Video footage from last night's Rock & Roll Roast red carpet — courtesy of Fuse and Gibson — can be seen below.

I remember the old Dee, like in the Stay Hungry concert DVD, he was hilarious and full of vigor, dropping F bombs like a sailor..."hey cool it with the bottle wimp or I'll kick your fucking ass too"

People like you are so funny to me. I'm not TS fan, but do you honestly think Dee Snider gives a flying fuck what you have to say on the internet while he's out there making money and having fun milking his 2 hits songs, while keyboards warriors like you pound away on your keyboard? Enjoy keeping your lint to yourself, loser.

COMMENT | Fuck the Roast shows (Shows how lame our society has become)

I did not see this roast show, and glad I didn't. I saw the one with Charlie Sheen. That was OK.

Sad that our entertainment culture has gone from fake reality TV to publicly humiliating people on TV.

This will probably lead to suicides, or other Drama BS.

I am a humble human being, and even if I had a million dollars I would not sit, and waste time roasting people.

I will only roast people that have done me wrong.
I do not consider Lita Ford, or Dee Snider washed up.
They did what they did back in the day, and put better music out than anything that could come out in this modern shitty world we live in.

Fuck whoever roasted Lita Ford. Whoever roasted her probably used to jerk off to her back in her heyday. "Dressed To Kill," and "Back To The Cave" are awesome songs from her.

If you act like a jag off going up in the entertainment biz, wait until you get hit coming down.

I am glad I don't live in Hollywood, or near Los Angeles. I would end up knocking out Papparazi ass holes, and dick heads like Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen, and Alec Baldwin.

I grew up watching Charlie Sheen's flicks, and he has been sucked into the Hollywood abyss of narcisism.

L.A. has become a shithole. Listed as the second most disastrous city to live in on infowars.com

It was desirable in the 80s, and the movies were way better. So were the bands.

I hate reality TV, and Roast shows. Shows how shallow of a society we have become. A lot of the shallow attitude comes from the society we create: we have to have bigger houses, better cars, faster computers--that go obsolete every week and month. Then we wonder why people go shoot up public places. Then the stupid U.S. Governtment wants to enforce gun control, and restrict what we do with our lives.

Lita Ford still puts out good music, and still has the heart to rock.

I will stick to old TV sitcoms, Documentaries, Action and Horror flicks, or shows with geographical information. I hate reality TV. It's Fake!!!

"Shoot 'Em Down," "Destroyer," What You Don't Know (Sure Can Hurt You), "Under The Blade," "You Can't Stop Rock n' Roll," The whole Stay Hungry album, "Kill Or Be Killed," "Come Out And Play," "Wake Up The Sleeping Giant," "Tonight," and "Love Is For Suckers" are awesome Metal songs. Twisted Sister was kick ass.

Ted Nugent is a good guitarist, and has some good songs but fuck him for starting shit with Dee Snider. Teddie needs to have a beer, and get baked.

Dee Snider is a cool MFer. Strangeland was a great flick! Twisted Sister rules! Stay Hungry was one of the albums that turned me into a Metal head.

I don't know if it was bad audio or not but it seemed liked the crowd was dead. Very few outburst of laughter, not by fault of most of the roasters but because the crowd was so stiff. Penn went on way too long in his intro, probaly the longest ever and he went on for 5 minutes about how stupid Dee was to rime jaded and confiscated. Really Penn? There was a lot of very uncomfortable moments, some provided by Zakk Wylde. He is a very funny guy usually but I had to skip through most of his set because it was so bad. Craig Gass stole the show. Very funny man. Musicians and comedy don't mix all that well

You Can't Stop Rock 'N Roll....

...and you can't stop the HATERS.

While you haters type away in your parents' basements while re-charing yourselves to whack off to porn yet again, Dee is makin' that paper, enjoying his publicity/celebrity, enjoying his many different ventures, and banging his HOT wife...which I bet he still enjoys doing.

-Dee Snider makes way more money than you.
-Dee Snider's wife is way hotter than yours (that's IF you have a girl at all).
-Dee Snider enjoys life way more than you do.

HATERS GONNA HATE.

I believe Dee has earned the right to do whatever the fuck he wants to do.If you have no sense of humor to let yourself be roasted, don't watch a roast or be a hater and post here.I also feel sorry for those who believe TS only stand for their '" 2 or 3 hits " ,whatever that means. And lets not forget Widowmaker. If you can get your hands on the 1st Widowmaker release do yourself a favor and do so.Anytime I get a chance to see a TS show I attend although I must say I am over that Christmas thing. All hail Dee \m/
