Video: MEGADETH's DAVE MUSTAINE Introduces New DEAN Double-Neck Guitar At NAMM - Jan. 23, 2013
MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine was on hand at this year's NAMM (National Association Of Music Merchants) show today (Wednesday, January 23) at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, to show off his new Dean double-neck guitar.

Originally a one-off which was built for Dave to play at the "Big Four" shows, the guitar will go into full production this year.

Mustaine said the guitar "plays like a motherfucker."

"When I went to Dean, I found out that the guitars were very responsive," Mustaine said. "And one of the most important things was the attention to detail. Also the relationship with me as an artist. Because the previous companies I was with, the guitars were good, but the relationship was sour. And I found that being with Dean was really good for me, because they took care of me as an artist, they took care of the guitars, they also knew what the public liked."

He continued: "Those of you that are distributors, you know that the younger generation, they want guitars that look cool and play great, that are affordable and that icons use. For me, I'm flattered to be considered an icon, but I'm just a guitar player. And to have this kind of backing and support from a company that is as reputable as Dean is really flattering."

Video footage of Mustaine's NAMM press conference from earlier today can be seen below (courtesy of Stephanie Cabral).

I guess 20 years of far superior metal bands in Sweden dont exist to you? In Flames, Dark Tranquility, Soilwork, At THe Gates, Scar Symmetry? Also Jeff Waters is 20 times the guitarist Flynn will ever be. Fuck what about Jeff Loomis?

That's pretty damn cool. I like how they reversed the inlays on the 12 string neck.

Just take a look at the looong list of past Megadeth members and do the math :-)

Not to mention Mike Muir, Tom Araya, Kerry King, etc. Dave's always had problems getting along with others.

Hell, it would have been the most playable double neck ever with a footstool, if not for the tuning pegs being on the body for the 12 string. They should seriously move those back to the headstock. At that point I could see a lot of people using this because there aren't a lot of double neck options and there certainly isn't one that would let you play both necks nice and high by resting the right horn of the body on your knee.

Mundane, you can put six necks on guitar but if your albums suck it doesn't make sense.

I bet there's not a single one of you that wouldn't want that if you had the disposable income to spend. That is a beautiful instrument for a double neck. Usually I'm not too keen on those but this one is definitely sharp. Too bad I don't like Dean Guitars.

According to mouthinhook's profile, he lives in China. His skin will probably never sag because there are over a billion people living there all fighting over a few bowls of rice. He's probably pretty thin. That skin is tight again his face I'd say.
