MADDER MORTEM, Norway's darling of the avant-garde, has issued the following update:
"We're looking for a new, permanent guitar player with broad musical tastes, but with roots in rock/metal. We're finishing our sixth album now, but we'd love to have a guitarist that wants to contribute creatively on the next album. You should be OK with playing a seven-string guitar and learning our back catalogue. We rehearse in Odalen, approximately 1.5 hours north of Oslo. If you're interested, get in touch for a chat and an audition. We'd like you to select a couple of songs from our albums and learn them for the audition. Please send an e-mail to mail@maddermortem.com."
MADDER MORTEM in 2010 parted ways with guitarist
Odd Eivind Ebbesen and replaced him with
Patrick Scantlebury.
The band released an EP,
"Where Dream and Day Collide", in May 2011 on
Peaceville Records. The EP contained three brand new songs from the bandmembers' warped imaginations, along with the single and album versions of the title track, taken from the sublime 2009 release,
"Eight Ways". The artwork was created by
Christian Ruud, who, along with
Kim Holm and the people at
Toxic, are also responsible for the breathtaking visuals on the suitably mysterious
"Where Dream and Day Collide" music video, which can be seen below.
