Remembering RIOT Guitarist MARK REALE On First Anniversary Of His Death - Jan. 22, 2013
Fans are inivited to remember late RIOT guitarist Mark Reale on Friday, January 25 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.

Flowers may be sent to the address below.

Holy Cross Cemetery
17501 Nacogdoches Rd.
San Antonio, TX

A map can be found at this location.

According to a posting at MarkReale.com: "Plot # is 16-36. Enter the front gate, take the 1st right, 1st left. Go almost to the end. It is the area on the right, in front of the fenced off shop/warehouse area. Take the center walkway up, he will be on your left when you pass the tree, it's the second row."

Reale died on January 25 in a San Antonio hospital due to complications of Crohn's disease — an ailment he had battled for most of his life. He was 56 years old.

Reale had reportedly been in a coma for two weeks after suffering a subarachnoid hemorrhage on January 11, 2012.

Mark is survived by his father, Anthony Reale, and was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Reale.

Mark spent most of his life working and performing while enduring almost constant pain and the side effects of treatment for Crohn's disease. He was in Texas bravely attempting to practice for the shows, but was felled by a severe onset of Crohn's symptoms, leaving him in the Intensive Care Unit at an undisclosed facility. Mark was struggling with these symptoms throughout the production of RIOT's new album, "Immortal Soul", and guitarist Mike Flyntz recorded a major portion of the guitars on the LP with Mark's creative direction while Reale was unable to perform.

...in particular, Narita Fire Down Under can't be beat. Rock City, Restless Breed % Born in America are great as well.

RIP Mark...

Riot, one of my favourite bands of all time.
Hope the other guys in the band do a tribute show someday!
R.I.P. Mark.

It is so hard to believe it's already been one year !!! Just seems like several months ago.

RIP Mark and thanks for all the great music. I was already proud to fly the Riot banner as a rocker in high school.

Restless Breed !

One of the finest guitarists ever in rock/metal and an equally brilliant songwriter - so many fantastic songs over such a long time period, in many different eras/styles - always A+ quality. He's greatly missed.
