'Death To All' Schedules One-Off European Appearance At Netherlands' NEUROTIC DEATHFEST - Jan. 18, 2013
"Death To All" — which features a number of DEATH's amazing musicians celebrating the life and music of Chuck Schuldiner — will make its only European appearance on May 3 at the Neurotic Deathfest in Tilburg, Netherlands.

The "Death To All Tour 2012" kicked off on June 22, 2012 at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco, California and concluded on June 30, 2012 at The Beacham in Orlando, Florida.

The drums on the "Death To All Tour 2012" were handled by Gene Hoglan ("Individual Thought Patterns", "Symbolic"), Danny Walker (INTRONAUT, BEREFT) and Sean Reinert ("Human"). On bass was Steve DiGiorgio ("Human", "Individual Thought Patterns") and Scott Clendenin ("The Sound Of Perseverance"). Guitar duties were shared by Paul Masvidal ("Human"), Shannon Hamm ("The Sound of Perseverance") and Bobby Koelble ("Symbolic"). The vocals were taken care of by EXHUMED's Matt Harvey and Charles Elliott of ABYSMAL DAWN and BEREFT.

Harvey replaced OBSCURA vocalist Steffen Kummerer due to visa issues and had only nine days to learn his entire set.

Commented Elliott at the end of the tour: "I just want to thank all the DEATH fans that were supportive of the 'Death To All Tour'. I wasn't sure how people would take someone besides Chuck playing these songs but people were very supportive. I'm obviously not trying to replace Chuck, just pay tribute to one of my favorite bands for a good cause. The people that realized this had an amazing time sharing in Chuck's memory and music at the shows.

"Getting up on stage with these incredible musicians and playing those songs for people that love DEATH as much as I do, was an incredible and surreal experience that I'll always remember. "

Fan-filmed video footage of the Orlando performance can be seen below.

Chuck died on December 13, 2001 after a battle with pontine glioma, a rare type of brain tumor.

Chuck's motto was "Let the metal flow", not "stay home".

^ They play Death songs live, only chance to hear that music live now for most people. They're not touring under Death name or making new music as Death, you idiot. Music is supposed to be played live - nobody says other pianists playing concerts of only Chopin music are a blasphemy after he died in 1849. At least they're not doing it as Chuck's corpse is still warm, like it was with Dio Disciples.

any chance of coming to southamerica? DEATH in Santiago-Chile is still one of the best metal shows ever around here, and I know way to many people who couldn´t see them in 1998.This will be the only chance for many to hear these songs live, and paid tribute for Chuck.

It's alright guys. Your always gonna have rabid haters wherever you go. People should surround themselves with "why not" instead of "why". Throw a rock and you'll hit someone who asks "why.?"

"when someone says this or this deceased musician would have said that or would have loved band X to continue or to change musical direction or whatever."

--> Don't drag things like that into this, they're out of context. This is not about of what Chuck would have said or what he would have loved. I know for a fact that he always said "let the metal flow".

"He would have approved as much as he approved not being part of the European tour in 1990 when they cheated on him..."

--> That was a different situation...and you can't possibly know what Chuck would have approved or not.

"Chuck was a perfectionist and would not have allowed any of this they are doing now "in his name". Fuck that shit."

--> Indeed, Chuck was a perfectionist in everything he did...but you can't possibly know what Chuck would have approved or not.

--> All I know for sure is that the world is still full of Chuck's fans, dedicated hardcore fans (I'm one of them) and many musicians who love his music, musicians who love to perform his music in his honour, fans who love to hear his music live as a remembrance of him.

Even while Chuck is not with us anymore, his spirit and music are immortal and I think that performing Chuck's music (that was always larger than life) is a perfect way of celebrating his high status as a pioneering musician who gave us all a massive legacy of everything excellent. I know I would go crazy in a show like this, for my own enjoyment and for Chuck.

Keeping Chuck's music alive on stage - letting his metal flow!!! - is not a fucking blasphemy! You're a blasphemer for stating shit like that. You can stay home and shut up, bury yourself in your headphones, don't even tell anyone about Death. Fucking lamer.

I attended the NYC show and it was amazing. Richard Christy came up for a couple songs and destroyed. And Watching Alex Skolnick play Death songs was funny but great.
