SEVENDUST And COAL CHAMBER To Join Forces For U.S. Co-Headlining Tour - Jan. 11, 2013
SEVENDUST and COAL CHAMBER will join forces for a U.S. co-headlining tour in April. So far, only one date has been leaked: April 4 at the Diamond Ballroom in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

SEVENDUST engaged in a well-publicized feud with COAL CHAMBER in 2003 and even dedicated its single "Enemy" to COAL CHAMBER frontman Dez Farara. SEVENDUST drummer Morgan Rose told Tacoma, Washington's The News Tribune at the time about the war of words: "It's been pretty humorous, actually, because, to be honest, [Dez is] not really someone who's important to society. So it's not like I'm talking about anyone that many people really know about." He continued: "COAL CHAMBER was a really popular band. Now they're not a band anymore, and my [then-]wife [bassist Rayna Foss] was probably the most popular member. The irony of this whole thing was I didn't want to give him any press. ... It was laid out on a press release that I kind of got tricked into. I wanted it to be a more universal song. A lot of people have people they don't like, that treat people that they care about with no respect. [My wife is] the reason I was mad at him in the first place. He treated her awful, while she was pregnant with my daughter inside of her. He was completely stressing her out and making her upset."

SEVENDUST's ninth album, "Black Out The Sun", will be released on March 26 via the band's 7Bros. Records label (through Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group). The CD was recorded at Architekt Music studios in Butler, New Jersey with engineer Mike Ferretti. Songtitles set to appear on the 12-track CD, which was produced by the bandmembers themselves, include "Decay", "Mountain" and "Murder Bar". The latter was reportedly inspired by a Butler, New Jersey bar across from the hotel where SEVENDUST was staying while recording the new CD. Rumor had it the place was popular with many of New Jersey's murderers.

COAL CHAMBER played its first reunion dates in February/March 2012 as part of Australia's Soundwave Festival.

In a 2011 interview with Australia's Loud magazine, COAL CHAMBER frontman Dez Fafara stated about how the band's reunion came about, "In '05, Meegs [Miguel Rascón, guitar] started coming around. He apologized to my wife for the way things went down with COAL CHAMBER, because when COAL CHAMBER split up I had to move my family into a one-bedroom apartment and start all over. So when he apologized to my wife, I thought, 'Well, OK, he's got a big heart inside him. And he's clean off the hard drugs now, let's see if this goes awhile.' So let's fast forward a few years to '09, he and Mikey [Mike Cox, drums] were still clean off hard drugs, Meegs came out and did 'Loco' onstage with DEVILDRIVER. After that he gave me a hug onstage and in my ear he said, 'Let's do this again.'"

Even without a support act named there are already two reasons to miss this tour.

Coal Chamber is a shining example of how bad music really got in the late 90's. Absolutely one of the worst bands of the decade, a turd that can't be polished under any circumstances.

Seriously, who the fuck would go to this? Coal Chamber was a joke from the word go - they can only be worse now. Sevendust? Meh -

This "tour" - one date! - will be craptacular.

I feel bad for Dez, gonna get blown away every show. Sevendust is way, way better. Really dig DevilDriver, but Coal Chamber is just lame. 'Big Truck' anyone?
