MEGADETH Bassist Promoting His Limited-Edition BEAMZ Player Product At CES (Video) - Jan. 9, 2013
MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson appeared at the Beamz Interactive, Inc. booth earlier today (Wednesday, January 9) in the Las Vegas Convention Center during the CES (Consumer Electronics Show), a major technology-related trade show held each January in Las Vegas. A short video message from the musician can be seen below.

Beamz's Limited Edition David Ellefson Beamz Player features Ellefson's signature combined with unique, original interactive music that David Ellefson created for his fans to experience using the Beamz. The collection of the original interactive songs is titled David Ellefson's Beamz Metal Factory, and Ellefson created this music exclusively for Beamz.

"With Beamz, an artists' fan doesn't just listen to music, they interact with it and experience it by playing light," said Al Ingallinera, Jr., Vice President of Product Management for Beamz Interactive. "Interactive music via the Beamz provides artists unique opportunities to offer their fans dynamic music making experiences, regardless of experience with traditional music instruments. David Ellefson's fans are going to be impressed with the creativity and fun they'll have with the interactive songs included with this limited edition product."

The Beamz Player is an innovative music product that enables people of all ages and skill levels to play music by passing their hands through four laser beams with up to 12 different music sounds, instruments and clips. Each Beamz interactive song is setup with a unique background rhythm track and each laser beam programmed to control different instruments, including guitars, bass, drums, etc. Consumers also have the option to capture and record copies of their interactive song performances for playback in any digital music player or to share copies with their family and friends.

"The Beamz Player and interactive music opens doors for people who wouldn't ordinarily pursue playing an instrument," said David Ellefson. "And with its simple learning curve, my fans may quickly enjoy playing with the interactive music I've made for them to experience by touching laser beams and playing light using the Beamz controller. It's a great product that may be used by musicians and non-musicians alike."

Electric bassist David Ellefson has become a mainstay in the rock and metal communities now for almost 30 years. Internationally acclaimed, David's work has garnered him nine Grammy nominations, multiple gold and platinum records originating from over 20 studio albums and countless world tours. He is currently a member of the band MEGADETH and active as a songwriter and performer, record producer, bass guitar clinician and recording artist.

The Limited Edition David Ellefson Beamz Player product has a $179.95 MSRP and is available immediately online at TheBeamz.com. This product includes 37 Beamz interactive songs, 7 of which are exclusive songs from David Ellefson's Beamz Metal Factory interactive album that Ellefson created specifically for the Beamz. The product also includes a David Ellefson edition of the ShadowBeamz interactive music game for consumers to build their Beamz skills and to compete against others to achieve the better performance scores.

Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, Beamz Interactive, Inc. has created a new interactive laser controller technology that can be used to develop new market opportunities in a wide variety of music, game, therapy and consumer applications.

I looked at this thing, I tried to be open-minded, but it's just dumb.
Come on, Dave...

in the future---they will use technology that began with thiz beamz
--
creating environments for people to have either raves or metal shows

with holographic visuals/and specialized environments
0-----
the music will change for each individual --based of trillions of lasers--throughout---

each person will wear either dr dre or motorhead headphones---
---
and then they go into the makeout chambers and the music changes as the couples mingle---lights
--
a custom experience that blends with the core of each person or lovers/ dna

The technology is interesting, but they way it's presented here basically makes it look like the world's most expensive toy for five year olds. Maybe I'm under estimating it and it will be the next guitar hero.

"When you pick up, yknow, a guitar or bass, it takes years of commitment.." - Well, yes...yes it does. I'm not going to sit here and shit on Dave E. all day as I do respect the guy and think he's overall a positive factor in the deteriorating Megaverse. At the very least he's still holding on to most of his marbles, which is probably no easy task given what his work environment must be like these days, but damn...sometimes I really think we will go to any length to dumb the fuck out of music until it gets to the point monkeys at the zoo will be the next wave of thrash metal pioneers.

Ellefson know's what it is like to wait for residual cheques an rely on them.
He has been given a second chance and he is not turning down a fucking thing that does not compromise his religious beliefs.
