'Heavy Metal Autographs' Insert Added To TOPPS' Baseball-Card Set - Jan. 9, 2013
Topps baseball-card publisher has added the "Heavy Metal Autographs" insert set to the previously announced 2013 Topps Archives baseball set.

The cards will be limited to 25 copies and printed on metal.

Featured musicians include:

* Sebastian Bach (ex-SKID ROW)
* Tommy Lee (MÖTLEY CRÜE)
* Kip Winger (WINGER)
* Reb Beach (WINGER, WHITESNAKE)
* Lita Ford
* Stephen Pearcy (RATT)
* Scott Ian (ANTHRAX)
* Dee Snider (TWISTED SISTER)

2013 Topps Archives Baseball is slated for release on May 29.

The August 2011 issue of Revolver magazine contained limited-edition baseball cards of the "Big Four" bands of thrash metal — METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX — who played the historic first metal show ever at Yankee Stadium on September 14, 2011. The cards were modeled after the classic Topps baseball cards from 1986, the same year these four bands released their metal masterpieces.

Cool idea, although I stopped collecting Topps BB cards in '89.

Savage Animal! \m/\m/

Honestly...Reb Beach is a bad mofo!
His work with Dokken & Winger shreds harder than some Metal out there.

Sometimes i read blabbermouth i think its 1985. With all the lame 80's bands that are posted on here.

25 copies still won't sell them all.

Because there weren't enough baseball players using performance enhancing drugs, they needed to add hair-band rockers.

So they are going to put one of these in packs of baseball cards?

Once again......WTF?!?!

I haven't collected Sports cards in a LONG time......but I do know that Topps is like the bottom shelf of cards these days!

Printed on "metal".....is that supposed to make them badass or something?
