UNISONIC To Release 'Powerful And Melodic Metal Album' In 2014 - Jan. 3, 2013
UNISONIC, the band featuring former HELLOWEEN vocalist Michael Kiske and Hansen alongside guitarist Mandy Meyer (ASIA, GOTTHARD and KROKUS), bassist Dennis Ward and drummer Kosta Zafiriou (both of Germany's PINK CREAM 69), has issued the following end-of-year update:

"2012 was an event — and successful year for UNISONIC: We released our debut CD and did the first tour, leading us to many countries in Latin America, Asia and Europe. The feedback on the CD and the live shows was phenomenal and we want to thank you all from the deepest of our hearts for your support!

"2013 will be a more silent year for UNISONIC. Besides working with our other bands and projects, be sure that we will use the time to write and record a new UNISONIC album!

"Touring together for the first time and your overwhelming reactions glued us together as a band, and we can't wait to canalize all these impressions into a powerful and melodic metal album, to be released in early 2014!"

UNISONIC's self-titled debut studio album was released in North America on May 22, 2012 via Eagle Rock imprint Armoury Records.

"Unisonic" was recorded at ICP Studios in Brussels, Belgium. The CD — which features 11 tracks, plus a bonus live version of HELLOWEEN classic "I Want Out", only available on the domestic edition, and cover art by Martin Häusler (MEAT LOAF, GOTTHARD, HELLOWEEN, MOTÖRHEAD) — marked the first full-length musical union between Kiske and Hansen in 23 years!

UNISONIC released its debut EP, "Ignition" on January 27, 2012 via earMUSIC/Edel. The effort included the track "Unisonic" plus one demo song and a cover version of the HELLOWEEN classic "I Want Out", recorded live on October 15, 2011 at the Loud Park festival at Saitama Super Arena, a multi-purpose indoor arena located in Saitama City, Japan.

Hansen's position in GAMMA RAY is unaffected by his involvement with UNISONIC.

UNISONIC is:

Michael Kiske (vocals)
Mandy Meyer (guitar)
Kai Hansen (guitar)
Dennis Ward (bass)
Kosta Zafiriou (drums)

80's and 90's are long gone. And Kiske is not a genius as many people think.

I love Kiske's vocals and Hansen has recorded a ton of great albums with both Helloween and Gamma Ray. I couldn't give a rat's arse if the music I like is currently en vogue ( as the poster above appears to )...but I wasn't that struck on the Unisonic debut.

Kiske's era is over.

Also, I hate how he makes himself sound like the german Geoff Tate, perpetually pissed, bitter, and so deep.

Pretty soon he'll be vesting it up on stage.

Can't wait. Kiske and Hansen are a great pair! "Unisonic" album was one of the best albums I bought in 2012!

These guys were the reason I loved Helloween to start with. I also liked Walls of Jericho songs.

Keeper of the 7th key
Doctor Stein
I want out
A little time
etc.

I tried listening to the first Unisonic but found it was lacking in the Iron Maiden heaviness and was borderline cheesy. I don't mind cheesy, just not too soft. I just wanna rock!!!

The first album was ok, in the vein of Pink Bubbles and Chameleon (which I both like) but the next one need to be more epic. It lacked that one big song, which every great metal album should have.

The recordings I saw and heard from their first tour were great and I would like to have live versions of old Helloween classics with Kiske.
