RUSH captured the "Clockwork Angels" tour by filming in Phoenix and Dallas on November 25 and November 28, respectively. The shows were recorded for a DVD release in 2013.

The North American leg of the "Clockwork Angels" tour kicked off on September 7 at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire and wrapped on December 2 in Houston, Texas.

In addition to adding a lot of rarely played songs to their opening set, RUSH brought a string ensemble out on tour with the band for the first time ever in its career. Orchestrations provided by well-known arranger David Campbell were used on several tracks from the band's new album, "Clockwork Angels", and RUSH recreated that sound during the tour.

"Clockwork Angels" debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard album chart, selling 103,000 copies in its first week of release. The disc marked RUSH 's highest chart debut since 1993's "Counterparts", which also entered at No. 2.

...you and a couple of other nitwits?

I'm pretty sure "many" Rush fans consider Moving Pictures to be one of the greatest albums of all time.

Permanant Waves and Signals are also 2 of their best albums.

That statement is only slightly more ridiculous thatn those who say Rush ended after moving Pictures. I'd add P/G and PoW to the list of excellent albums as well. PoW definitely is a synth heavy album, but the songs are still genius.

not only does rush sell more albums than aerosmith and kiss. they have better ticket sales than kiss. Those good old school days when i was told gene was a better bassist than geddy lee, it was ridiculous then and even moreso now that rush stomped all over kiss last year.

I took my dad to the show in Detroit. It was incredible. It was my first time seeing them, and my dad's 2nd. The first time being at a dive bar in Lansing in the 70s. These guys are pushing 60 and they still have it.

The set list comprised mostly off of their 80s albums, which I knew going in was going to be the case. Im not too familiar with many of the songs they played, but I still had a great time. The production value of the show was mind blowing. Their production crew are true professionals.

I went to the Sold Out NJ gig @ 12K, and then they played Brooklyn 2 days later on a Monday and almost drew 10K at a venue 15 min away. That is amazing.

People still love rush because they have always been themselves. They never tried to follow trends they always wrote what they were into at that time. The fact the fans forced the Hall of fame to put them in the HOF shows how powerful their fanbase is and how big they still are. 40 years later they do what they want how they want.

To this day when a song comes on the radio you know right away it's rush even before Geddy sings.

Whether you are into Rush because you're a musician or you like them for their lyrics or you just appreciate them live the band is amazing.

ever say that Gene was better than Geddy? Gene IS underrated but Rush has to be the best three musicians assembled in one band. That being said, I lost interest after moving pictures. I may go back and revisit some stuff at some point but there is NOTHING like that first live lp. It was great when I was young and had so much cool shit to listen to. And even if I WAS Gary, I wouldn't name an,amphitheater after myself...lol. Some of these venue names really suck. That's one thing I would like to ask Garry...does that stupid sounding name make you feel bigger than you really are? This should be their slogan..."when money just isn't enough...1-800 ask Gary". Sorry, I digress. Lol.

You should revisit some of those late 80's and 90's albums. Presto and Test For Echo are incredible. You may have to listen to each song a few times before it grows on you. It's not as heavy as the 70's stuff, but the melodies and lyrics are borderline genius.

DUDE!! I thought it was just me, YOU ARE 120% SPOT ON!!
I'm glad I moved from "Tamp-on" FLA 4 years ago now, and didnt see that name change 1st hand!! I have ironworker friends that built that amphitheater, and have been there myself twice, once for Ozzfest. Its a cool place (not literally tho) for shows, as long ya get pit tickets, not much shade anywhere else!!
1-800-ASKGary is a freakin law group in the Tampa, Orlando area last time, I knew...
I'd say the change was "retarded", but that would be a insult to people with mental retardation, and they have better decision making...

I want to know is did they play The Analog Kid live? That song is one of my absolute favorite stand alone songs by Rush (great bass lick!!!)... As for me, I lost my flavor for them after Signals.... Can't name a single tune of Grace Under Pressure and only one from Power Windows (Manhattan Project).... too much on the keyboards....lost the dynamic that was Rush's majesty on Farewell to Kings and Hemispheres...just sayin' Haven't heard CwA yet....

I was at the Dallas show - just a fantastic concert. I've seen them 11 times now, never disappointed. The numbers are a little inaccurate though. The venue they played (AAC) holds more than the 10,500+ stated and stated as sold out. It is correct, the available seats were sold out. It is a massive arena for the Dallas Mavericks and The Stars hockey team but has a capacity (non-basketball or hockey which is in the 17,000 range) of 19,200. They had the entire top tier closed (no tickets sold for it) and from the side stage around the to the other side stage all closed off (no behind the stage seating). I would close that top level also, it's a second upper balcony and I've sat there before at a basketball game, just horrible.

I never believe these figures. The Honda Center in Anaheim holds at least 18,000 for a concert, NOT 10,000.

http://www.hondacenter.com/HondaCenter.aspx?page=AboutUs.aspx

Same with HP Pavilion in San Jose, it can max out at over 19,000 for a show.

It's also intetresting to see the average ticket prices. About $120 in Los Angeles (!!), and some places as low as $50. You suck, California, in so many ways.
