WHITESNAKE Drummer Breaks Collarbone In Mountain Biking Accident - Dec. 31, 2012
Renowned drummer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Brian Tichy, known for his tours of duty with BILLY IDOL, FOREIGNER, OZZY OSBOURNE and currently WHITESNAKE broke his collarbone this past weekend in a mountain biking accident. As a result, he will be unable to take part in tonight's (Monday, December 31) THE MOBY DICKS - All-Star Tribute To Led Zeppelin concert at Vamp'd in Las Vegas, Nevada and will be temporarily replaced by QUIET RIOT's Frankie Banali.

Tichy is one of the organizers of the Bonzo Bash NAMM Jamm 2013, which will take over Anaheim, California on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Observatory. Many of the drummers who have performed at past Bonzo Bashes are back, as well as some new. This is the chance for many out-of-towners to check a Bonzo Bash out as Natal and Marshall are presenting this on opening night of the NAMM show.

Dummy! You got an enormous talent that depends on your physical ability and you choose to do something dumb like mountain biking!

If I was a musician, I would protect my hands and shoulders like they were the most important things on Earth. Stay away from motorcycles, mountain biking, skateboarding, all that crap!

For all the people going to the show expecting to hear a tight band. Hardly the end of the world though in the grand scheme of things....LOL Drunk people listening to Zep covers on New Years Eve. He'll look great in a Vest with a drink in his hand I bet trying to pick up chicks. "Hey baby, I'm the drummer in Whitesnake".

Sux. Get better.
I'm a huge mountain biker, but I haven't had insurance in 3 years, so I don't do it for now. I think about that shit all the time. I got impaled by my handle bars, broke 3 ribs, dislocated some sternum points. They still just pop out of place every now and then, for 12 years now.
....good times.
At least he didn't break his neck, like George Lynch did.

Tommy Aldridge would have played the bongos with his hair. Cozy Powell would have added a few more drum rolls into the songs using just the one arm. Ian Pace would have broken his other collarbone banging the shit out of those drums tonight.

And Rick Allen would have taken two aspirin and resumed practicing for the show with just his feet.
