SABATON Frontman Interviewed In Manchester (Video)
- Dec. 31, 2012
Chris Simpson of Merseyside Metal Madness conducted an interview with vocalist Joakim Brodén of Swedish metallers SABATON before the band's November 3 concert at HMV Ritz in Manchester, England. You can now watch the chat below.
SABATON's entire November 16 headlining concert at Scandinavium in Gothenburg, Sweden was professionally filmed and recorded for the band's upcoming DVD and Blu-ray, tentatively due in 2013.
SABATON has just finished headlining the "Swedish Empire Tour" with support from ELUVEITIE and WISDOM.
SABATON's new album, "Carolus Rex", was certified gold in the group's home country for sales in excess of 20,000 copies. (Note: The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry [IFPI] in Sweden has revised the sales requirements for albums to reach gold status in the country twice in the last seven years — from the pre-2002 level of 40,000 to the current 20,000.)
"Carolus Rex" was released on May 22 via Nuclear Blast Records. The lyrics for the CD, which was made available in both English and Swedish, deal with the Swedish Empire (referring to the Kingdom of Sweden between 1561 and 1721).
SABATON earlier in the year parted ways with guitarists Oskar Montelius and Rikard Sundén, drummer Daniel Mulback and keyboardist Daniel Mÿhr. The band's new touring lineup is as follows:
