JASON NEWSTED Slams Bands Who Charge Money For Meet-And-Greets: 'I Think It's Bullsh*t' - Dec. 19, 2012
On December 18, Brandon Marshall of Sonic Excess conducted an interview with former METALLICA, VOIVOD and FLOTSAM AND JETSAM bassist and current NEWSTED frontman Jason Newsted. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

Sonic Excess: Welcome back! The metal word has missed Jason Newsted. Every couple of years, you come up with a new project or collaboration, and then we don't hear from you. Are you back for good, and is the band NEWSTED a full-time project?

Jason Newsted: [laughs] I'm always back for good and better! NEWSTED is the project that's happening now, I would like to see it grow, get somewhere, of course, and be able to share it with everyone who wants to share it with me. It has been a lot of years coming. It's ready for me, and I'm finally ready for it. I never thought I was going to put my name on a project; I've always come up with cool enough band names. We did it with this, and I'm very proud of it. Things are lining up very well, and I'm hoping to take it out to the people live next year.

Sonic Excess: What was the spark that got NEWSTED ignited?

Jason Newsted: We always play a lot of improv music. We have though the years, and we just keep it going in the Chophouse Studio [Newsted's home studio in Walnut Creek, California] and play with a lot of different cats through time. What really happened was about a year and a week ago, with the METALLICA 30th-anniversary shows, where we played The Fillmore in San Francisco. Lars [Ulrich, METALLICA drummer] had called me in October of last year and said, "Do you want to jam?" I said "What time do you want me there?" I haven't seen them in a long time, and I hadn't seen them since the [Rock And Roll] Hall Of Fame thing anyway. He said, "What songs do you want to play?" and I said, "You pick the fastest one dude." We took the 14 fastest ones. I rocked a few each night, and we had a good time. What came from it was the realization of the energy of the fans. There were probably 30-35 countries represented on the floor that week. The energy I got back, and the appreciation, the real, true fan-dom, and being able to look into people's eyes made me think it could happen again. Maybe, I could bring it out on my own and sing, play bass, play guitar, and do my own stuff. Make it fast and make it ugly, like old METALLICA, like "Kill 'Em All" and "Ride The Lightning" records, and the old FLOTSAM AND JETSAM records, make real, old-school metal. One year later, I have 11 songs total, and we are doing it in batches. The first batch is in four, and you can pre-order it today.

Sonic Excess: Everything seems to be happening very fast. A month ago, your web site went live, and now you have an album coming out January 8th. How long has NEWSTED been in the works? Can tell us about the other members in the band?

Jason Newsted: Yes, I would be glad to. Jesus Mendez, Jr. is the drummer. I have been playing with him for about 10 years, and we have known each other for longer than that. He was a California roadie guy for METALLICA and worked at headquarters for some years. Then, he was the drum tech on the ECHOBRAIN tour, so we have been friends for a while. We have played a lot of hours, for a lot of years. He comes from like Vinny Appice, DIO, MOTÖRHEAD, AC/DC, but way down with double bass. He is a very serious, hard-working player. Our secret weapon is Jessie Farnsworth; he is a little bit younger than us. He is 32 and he is from the East, from Connecticut. He has been out here for a while, and I have been playing with him for about four years. We swap back and forth with bass and guitar. I choose people who have not quite risen in their own bands. I didn't want people who were jaded or had ugly baggage come into this band, and I didn't want to make it a supergroup. I wanted real friends that I get along with, and I wanted to play real true music.

Sonic Excess: Do you plan on touring?

Jason Newsted: I plan on taking it anywhere I can. As you can imagine, people are coming out of the woodwork wanting to help out, like promoters and agents, and people wanting to do what they do. We have scheduled meetings after Christmas about how we are going to get it out there to the people. My desire and quest has always been to take it anywhere I can for anyone who will accept our westernized rock 'n' roll music. I want to continue being the ambassador of metal, like I have been pretty much my whole career. My idea, actually, is to go to a lot of places not a lot of people actually do go to. I'll still go to the "A" markets and play places expected, but I really want to get into the nooks and crannies of the countryside. I really want to get in front of people in places where I come from. I want to go to a lot of places that don't get a lot of shows. I'm down with that, and I really want to do that.

Sonic Excess: What's your opinion on bands charging for meet-and-greets now?

Jason Newsted: I think it's bullshit! My guys had been talking to me about doing those things, and they talk about KISS making money for this meet-and-greet. People will pay it, but that's not the point. I don't want to take money like that. If they want to buy a t-shirt and have something to show for it, that's what we do. You can't download a t-shirt. There are certain things that make sense to me. I have never charged for my autograph up until the web site. That is my first time in my 30-year career that I have charged for my autograph, and I have signed for hundreds of thousands of people. I don't feel comfortable with charging people to meet me; I don't feel comfortable with charging people to get me to sign something when they are standing with me. If they buy it off the Internet and want an 8x10 or an autograph CD, they have that momentum. That's fine, but I'm not going to charge people to meet me. I just don't feel that's right. I'll pay to meet one of my old sports heroes, or something like one of the cats from the 1970s Orioles. I'll pay a couple of bucks for something, but I'm not going to pay for Gene Simmons. It's ridiculous, that's not what it's about.

I agree! I paid $175 for a Testament meet and great and thought it was worth the money. There were 8 of us and we got to stand around and chat with the band for almost 30 minutes. If it was not a paid meet and greet, then there would have been 500 people and you might have gotten something signed, but would not have the chance to actually stand there and chat one on one with Chuck Billy!

what mr. newsted fails to mention is the band sends you a bunch of good shit (vinyls, t-shirts, autographed items, etc) for a measly equivalent price of 2 CDs for an entire year. i see nothing wrong with it. the fans get more out of it than just meeting the band.

I'm glad Newsted's back, and I agree sort of about charging for meet and greets... However, he hasn't toured since music sales went to absolute shit and gas prices have gone through the roof. Maybe he'll understand after the first run.

Don't see anything wrong if the price is only a few quid more than the standard ticket price. And depending what band you can see the soundcheck, get a free t shirt/merch and get to meet and chat to the band as well as see the show itself.

For most artists it's understandable, completely reprehensible for KISS to be charging for them though, Simmons has enough fucking cash. No one we'll ever steal their fans money better than the Rolling Stones though. Unless Jagger plans to move from mansion to space station there's no fucking excuse for their ticket prices.

u hypocrites think about that the next time you download an album for free without paying for it.

nobody is forcing anyone to pay for a meet n greet. It's just an option just like buying different types of seats at various costs.

But these bands are a business and making money is a part of that.

Jason is a worth 20 million dollars he never has to work again. He doesnt have employees or huge business expenses. if he is so pro give it to the fans for free why not release his music for free?

Most of you keyboard warriors have no idea what it costs to tour and pay the salaries in some cases for 100 people.

only a bunch of morons would run a business and not look at different revenue streams especially when they don't make money from their own music any more.

The people who pay for the "meet and grabs" are the diehard fans, the diehard fans are not stealing the bands music, they are buying it like any true fan will do, bands are ripping off the wrong people and when a band says "you want a photograph with me, buy a VIP package", thats when I say fuck you.

Whats next after the meet and grab has been bled to death? Maybe bands will charge you a royelty everytime you wear the bands t-shirt or put a sticker on your car.

I don't think charging fans for this experience is an absolute evil, as long as it's done right.

I did the Anthrax VIP package last year, it was a $90 upcharge and we got the meet the band, hang out and BS for a little bit, get a photo and I got a ton of stuff signed.

Recently, I did Megadeth, which was a $200 upcharge from the standard ticket. We got the photo op - move along. However, we did get free drinks for an hour, an exclusive t-shirt which was pretty cool and a signed lithograph/poster for the tour. All in, not a terrible deal...and no one MADE me pay. Also, Dave signed autographs out by the bus afterwards for free, which he didn't have to do.

The point is, give fans something legitimately worth their money, and I don't think it's that bad.

I love KISS, but I just can't get around that price. Some of those VIP Nation packages are so ungodly expensive and they don't even include a freaking autograph. Are you kidding me? If there's not something tangible to walk away from the experience with, then what they hell do you think I'm spending my money on?

I think Jason is right on in the concept, but if a band puts together a VIP/M&G package that really delivers, then I really don't have a problem with it. At the end of the day, you can't meet EVERY fan at EVERY show...this is one way to somewhat make sure you meet the people that most want to meet you. It's financially constraining to some, but it is fair.

What about bands who meet fans at shows? Those fans have to be part of a special fan club or whatever, which costs $$. Doesn't Metallical do that???

Its not DIRECTLY charging for an autograph, but lets face it, you're charging for a fuckin' autograph.

Newsted always stoped for fans outside a venue, hotel whatever. I don't think he tells fans who did not buy the meet and greet "NO" like some bands do these days.

The only thing bands owe the fans is respect, something thats lacking in this day and age.

Yep, it's a math problem. If you were going to buy a shirt at the show, and a shirt and poster are included in a $30-ish meet and greet? Well fuck, that works for me. That's what I did when I saw Iced Earth back in February. All the band members were there and they talked with everyone for a good 20 minutes before they were called up for dinner, and even then Jon stayed an extra 5-10 minutes to make sure anyone who wanted to talk to him had a chance.

What's lame is when bands make you buy a $250 "VIP package" to meet them and get some shit signed. That I will not do.

As for paying for a meet n greet, the band is giving up their time and it seems most bands aren't making money from album sales. Or touring, not when there's 5 bands on a bill.

Newsted wasn't saying that bands refuse to sign an autograph. He just didn't like bands strictly charging for one, without offering something else, like a T shirt.

Other Blabbers mentioned, T shirts at shows are overpriced, so it's still a rip off to fans. They pay for the autograph.

I wouldn't doubt that Newsted is friendly and accessible, but so are other bands.

Corporate bands like Metallica allow fans to meet them and get an autograph, but strictly in ways that involve money. No doubt about it.

You gotta think about bands like KISS, Stones etc who were around before the digital era etc that have seen many bands go broke and screwed over. Survivors like them became business savy inorder to stay alive. No'one helped KISS when The Elder album cost them 2 million and sold nothing. Record companies screwed bands when LP's were being copied to CD's because it wasn't in contracts prior (no'one thought beyond the LP). As for the bands that fell due to "money", no one really talks about them anymore....

I do think it's pretty much a case-by-case basis on the "meet n' greet" thing though. Bands that are up-and-coming or maybe don't make a shitload off album sales but still try to give their fans free shit along with the meet n' greet, I got no problem with.

Gene Simmons charging $500 to shake his hand (and I just pulled that out of the air; I have no clue if Gene charges $500 to shake his hand but I wouldn't put it past him) - Fuck that.

I've done a bunch of meet and greets, simply because I collect music autographs. I don't have time to hang out airports or hotels. I've also waited by busses/vans after just about every show-minus the big ones in arenas where the band is shuttled underneath anyway.

Newsted did sign for those waiting after a Metallica show for me on 1/4/00 and I was in a snippet of Fanatic on VH1. The coolest part? He came back out again with some ladies and said to get the other guys at the Four Seasons the next AM. Never was able to due to work. I can assure you that he's in the 5% of bandmembers that would tell fans waiting to get shit signed that much....

Plus, he helped start Flotsam and I absolutely LOVE that band.

And an absolute beast on the bass. The ONLY guy that could have (and deserved to) replace Cliff. And did so in ways that still boggle my mind.

Good to see the Newsted love here, and REAL cool to see the majority spell his name correctly.

No Newsted = no way

He looks fruity as hell in the "Load" CD booklet. Makes me wonder what Burton would have looked like if he was around for that era.

I mean, obviously KISS doesn't need the fucking money, but smaller bands that don't make a whole lot of ticket revenue when they tour can use it as a way to make their trips more worth their time. If it allows smaller bands to tour more often, what's the harm?

My friend was really into these until it became too much for too little. Unfortunately, You are rushed through like cattle, treated like you are going through some foreign customs agency, being told by some bitchy little troll host or some hot head security guard 20 times only one thing signed. No guitars signed, No your own item, no this, no that. I really don't like not choosing my own t-shirt so fuck that too. WOW A Laminate that has more rules on it. Garbage

I do agree with another post above, it's time for band's to treat their customers better. I use to agree with the 1 item only signed opinion, but if I had 15 albums out and someone came up to me to have me sign them, you bet your fucking ass I'd sign em' or he isn't coming back with my new one down the road. It's a fucking scribble, it's not brain surgery, breaking stone, reinventing the wheel, IT"S A SCRIBBLE. It's called good customer service. Collecting autographs and memorabilia is not a sin. I don't care if he sells them on ebay or sticks them in his shit box. That shits so overrated. Hopefully they do sell them so they can go back and buy some more for me to sign. It's a win for everybody

Just something to think about. I decided to freeze my ass off to meet my hero Rik Emmett from Triumph. When he pulled up, he took care of everybody, signed all their shit and took photos. There were 12 people total waiting and half were there because they collected autographs and had no intentions on going to the show. Because Rik took care of them, they took care of Rik and the venue. All of them went to the box office with us and bought tickets. It looked like good customer service and Rik pulled in $150 extra in ticket sales he would have lost being a dick or handling his potential customers wrong. We were pretty sure a couple of the dudes were autograph dealers but the same guys were buying shit at the merch booth and from the bar so it looks like a complete victory for everyone. I bought an extra Rik Emmett autograph on ebay. It's real. I compared it to mine that I got in person. I hope I didn't commit a sin buying an autograph?

The M&G experience, IMO, really varies with the artist.

For example, I a few years back, I paid for a Devin Townsend M&G. It was $90, I think. That's not including the $20 ticket to the show.

Regardless, the M&G also came with some goodies: a DT VIP shirt, Ziltoid puppet, and a few other items.

The kicker was meeting Devin. He was completely honest and upfront with us. He said along the lines of this to the few people at the M&G:

"Thank you so much for doing this M&G. It's because of people like you that we're able to come out and do these shows, and keep making music." He did say a few other things, but the gist of it was he wanted to let us know he was thankful and humbled by us. It was awesome.

We ended up chatting with him and his band for about twenty minutes, then he asked if we wanted pictures with him via our phones or whatever. He was genuinely a down-to-earth guy.

While I do agree with Newsted's statements, I think for the "smaller" bands, ie. Dev, paying for M&G's are essential. (And yeah, Dev's "big" in some parts in the world, but where he played for my M&G, it wasn't even a sold out show. My all means, have a M&G and let me hang out with you!)

I must say.I was surprised. It sounds like old Metallica.Which is a good thing.I,m not sure if that was Jason on vocals, but a little more conviction on the vocals and this would be great.Let's hope the rest of the songs sound this good.Welcome back Newsted. As far as the greet and meet.If people are willing too pay it,then so be it.Personally,it is not my style to ask anybody for an autograph. But,with the digital age and piracy pirates around and the fact that you are know touring with 5 or 4 bands instead of 3 it's hard to make money in this business now since you cannot rely on cd sales.People forget that bands have to sometimes take money out of their own pocket to tour. It's not like it used to be.

If people are willing to pay to meet their favorite band then let them but I wouldnt waste a penny on it. Ill buy tickets Cds and t shirts ect.. and thats it. Jason is cool for being down to earth.

I can agree with what Jason is saying but I can also appreciate the fact that some of these bands that are charging for meet & greets aren't making so much money off album sales anymore or weren't really to begin with. Some fans are more than willing/happy to pay to meet some of their "idols".

But where I agree with Jason, if it were me, I wouldn't charge either.

I met Metallica a couple summers ago at their Quebec show. I won a meet & greet pass... For all the shit they get, they know how to treat their fans. The group of us who won the opportunity met all the guys and shot the shit like you see in the tour videos, signed our stuff & on top of that, they had their security escort us to the best possible place to view the show- right up front. An experience I'll never forget and to me, if the biggest metal band in the world doesn't charge their fans for the chance to meet them, who should really, you know?

My first though was, "right on Jason, I agree and those greedy assholes like Gene and Paul don't need to rip off any more fans."

But I know a few formally famous musicians who still have a fan base and while they do okay, they are not really wealthy men (well a couple are not hurting). The reality of the music industry is that if albums are not going to sell, tickets have to be sold for under $25, and the cost of even a small tour is astronomical, I don't see an issue with giving a fan a really cool experience where they can hang out at sound check, get some one on one time with their favorite artist, get some pix and autographs, maybe some special merch, and have a night to remember for the rest of their lives. If it's done at a reasonable price, I think it's super cool. Bands like Down did this and I think charged $125 and gave the fans a lot - now that is a really cool deal. The fan gets something, the artist gets something and it's all good. And the artists I know who do this also spend time meeting fans before and after the show.

But for like Kiss who charge I believe over $1000 for a meet and great and treat the fans like shit, that is ridiculous. Like anything, I don't think there is a black and white answer to this topic. Really, it just depends on the situation.

And Jason, looking forward to seeing you on tour man!

You were lucky enough along with 9 other people that were pulled out of a hat to meet Metallica. You have to buy into their fan club and most will never win that opportunity. James is a complete ass to fans now. Didn't even sign or take pictures the entire weekend of his rock hall inductions. The other guys did. It's just a spit in the face to the people who bought the music and tickets. People came in from all over the world and this guy just walked through everyone like they were asking him to come and clean his toilet. Shame

Yes, you have to buy into the fan club but it's not like you're charged an arm & a leg to do so. It's affordable and you get the magazines/t-shirt, access to sales on merch & what-not... you're not paying for the meet & greet which other bands outright ask money for in addition to their "fan club".

And just because your attitude is "most will never win", it doesn't diminish the importance for a fan; especially those who do win. Also, the band gets more points as far as I'm concerned, with the approach they use. They could just charge whatever they wanted for meet & greets but they don't.

And did you meet James? Sorry if that was your impression of him but when I met him, he was chill & down to earth. Definitely was not an asshole.

James will not be stopping to chill and sign autographs outside of that 10 people meet and greet and hasn't for a long time.

I've seen the meet and greets posted on blabber and my friend attended one. He said it went well but they were told if they try to get more than 2 items signed they will be dragged out. He did say the band was cool. PS He drove 2 states away from his family to attend the show because he put in for 10 meet & greets + and hit for one

I think some people here forget that bands are actually businesses first, musicians second. They exist solely to generate an income from you, their fans.

They no longer make money from record sales, because most of you illegally download their music, so they have to generate revenue from elsewhere.

Touring is very expensive, they have to cover their costs and doing meet & greets helps to finance the tour and put food on the table for band and crew alike.

If you offer value for money, I see no problem in charging. No-one forces you to buy a ticket for a show.

always had a lot of respect for this guy, he's got a fair point with regards to paid meet and greets...

But i have to say i like the idea of paid meet and greets - it just depends, on what value for money you get from the artist. If it's literally a hand shake and a songle autograph - thats wrong. But if it's a meaningful conversation, autographs on a couple of items and a couple of photos its all cool.

I recently passed on the Anthrax meet and greet - due to only one item autographed/one photo taken stipulation. if i'm paying $80 i want more than a handshake and a signature!

Metallica has one of the greatest scams running on its fans. You pay per year for a CHANCE to win meet and greet passes, if you live in a major market good luck winning. The band is robbing the shiz out of those moronic fans.

You buy an album and you get one. You pay for a concert ticket and you get a show. Some pay for a meet and greet and are getting whatever the fuck they're told they get. Some bands will come hang out, which is cool. Some don't.

What's with this customer service shit you think you're owed? Fucking entitlement generation is beyond belief. They're not your friends or family, they don't owe you anything other than what you've paid for.

Look at all the stupid ass posts on this thread alone. On day 30 of a tour, I sure as fuck wouldn't want to spend my downtime answering questions to mouth breathing jackasses that think the band owes it to them. That's great that some bands are cool about it but fuck you princesses are demanding.

Come on guys. Whats' the point behind all that ? The music.

You create a t-shirt, it costs to print it, you sell it. It's ok.

Music cd, you sell it as well, it's costy.

A concert, whether it's free or not, people are paid (technicians, roadies...).

But meeting someone ? That's the most basic thing. We're talking human relationships, here. We're talking making people happy to meet you when you're a famous musician. If you don't wanna meet them, then don't. If you care, meet them and make them happy. They're the ones who buy your stuff, the ones that make it happen for you. The least you can do if you agree to meet them, is to give it for free.

That often it is the local promoter , the venue , and the agent who is making the real money on these meet and greets . I know first hand , because - a few years back - when these meet and greet upcharges started to become popular - we were offered to do a meet and greet everyday on our ( at the time) current US Tour . Each member of the band would be required to give up an hour of their day before doors - to spend with fans - and to also allow fans access to soundcheck. Well - I saw that this would be an optional 50 $ ticket uppcharge - and so I started asking relevant questions - like - who actually gets this money - since it sure as fuck wasnt going to be US = the band - and quickly diiscovered it was the venue + promoter + agent. Well - fuck me - since I already give away my time to fans ~ for free~ signing autographs and taking pics - and meeting people and shaking hands and all the rest of it -and have ALWAYS done it - for the last 20 years - for free - then why on earth woud I agree to let some one ELSE make money by raping our fans ? Especally when ITS MY time I am giving up ? So we refused. And all along that tour - like every Nile tour- we still signed autographs, met fans , did endless pics EVERY day possible on tour. Just my 2 cents. Not all bands - especially the Real Honest to God Metal bands - are greedy Simmons style vultures. Some of us actually care about our fans . See ya on tour !

...but what the fuck. Normally I would laugh my ass off about people saying what metal is and what not, but paying to meet a musician or celebrity of any kind is so un-metal it is almost the opposite. it is LAME! like worshipping justin bieber. I just cringe. not everything should be corporate, esp. metal.

Met the guys from down, overkill, megadeth, kreator and others, stayed at backstage parties and I would never ever pay a dime for that. how that goes? go over to the tour bus after the gig, smoke a joint and be a decent person instead of a clichee-baggaged caveman.

I remember the shitload of money aerosmith charged for VIP tickets in the US a couple of years ago. ridiculous.
and that is where something is very wrong.
I mean what's that? entertainment for guys at a gig who like embracing cigarette bans, clean children friendly entertainment, cellphone videographers and seated folding their hands, conservative to the bone, no mum, I am not old enough to have a beer.
I mean okay, I for myself never have a drink at home and I am in my thirties and yes I do have a good job and all, but hey, this is metal, remember?

From the shows I've been to that have that VIP ticket, I've never heard any positive feedback from people. Most say that they don't even get a chance to talk to the members or really share a moment with them. They just put the fans with random members of the band and take a pic.
I've been lucky to get to know a few members of some really great bands. I can understand that there is a lot going on the night of a show and a lot of preparation. They are artists and expect to be paid for their time. People pay to go see them perform and that's how they make their living.
I know that most of us would like to say that if we were in the same situation we wouldn't charge anyone to just to say hi.
But this "saying hi to a fan" multiplied by thousands of people, numerous states and venues can be a whole project in itself.
I'd just say, pay to see who you want to see and if the band you like doesn't charge that's even better. As long as one person is willing to pay it'll never end.

Few people would pay much to meet Jason Newsted, that's a given answer from him... If you want to run a business you need to find ways to make money. Kiss (at least half the band) are decent businessmen, that's the difference between them and Jason. I personally wouldn't pay money to meet anyone but that's not the point. Of course there's nothing wrong trying to make money this way.

As for meet and greets, I've paid for one to see Steve Vai because he's like a hero to me. There were about 30 of us, he answered any of our questions very candidly for about an hour, was very open about his career, passed his #1 guitar, Evo, around for us all to hold and check out, gave us a goody bag with picks and a program that was like the ones you buy at the ball game, and we got to watch the entire soundcheck. Steve was a class act and made it well worth the money.

Hey evil twins vagina, So when you come to my store I work at and buy a product, once you paid, I can treat you like a piece of shit and ignore you if you start asking me questions and complimenting me about our product? You will really want to did down deep and give me your hard earned money after that right?

It's called customer service, not fucking entitlements. Band's make money from their customers. Nobody is saying stand out there and have some spaced brained tart ask the band 70 fucking questions. Autographs is not cleaning toilets or building a freeway. It's fucking easy and everyone is tickled pink when the band does it. I've seen how people react to it. It's almost like you made a fan/customer for life.

Karl Of the Nile. You should be offering the meet and greet through your own band website instead of some rip off company like iloveallaccess. have the customers meet at bus. it's none of venue or promoters business about your side loot. If that's the road you decide, it sounds like you would do it right and offer something of value to your fans and customers.

Mr. Groping You mentioned that bands have to figure out how to make extra money because "Most of You" download the record.

My answer is this, I don't download. I buy cds and vinyl, like MOST of the music lovers with some sort of passion here on blabbermouth. Just because my healthcare package at my job has been cut to nothing in the past 3 years doesn't mean I'm going to be a shit sac to my paying customers who still buy or bought our shit. I am not bitter towards the ones who are still making the fucking sunshine for me or the company I work at. If you got my albums and cds I'm signing that shit, it's obvious the dude didn't download as you claim.

When they did the reunion tour in '98 their was a meet n greet at blockbuster music, all you had to do was purchase the live reunion CD in order to obtain autographs from all 4 band members. Im sure Sharon Osbourne probably demanded that each fan pay $300 for the autograph but luckily I only had to shell out 15 for the CD to get the autographs.

First of all you're an idiot with major entitlement issues. Second of all, going to a live show is NOT the same thing is shopping for dildos at the shitty store you work at.

You work there and have tried them all out. So you're there to answer questions to help a customer decide which dildo is best, based on your experiences with each of them.

The band is there to put on a show. Some bands, like Nile, are extra cool and take the time to meet, sign, and answer questions from dildo crammers like yourself. It's understandable to be disappointed if you were looking forward to that element of the show. But since it's above and beyond what they're actually there for, which again is to play a show, it's entitlement to expect it.

You sound like one of those assholes that's band's sales got cut in half. If I had a dildo store I'm sure you and your family would be at the stores sucking shit off them.

An Autograph is not an entitlement or even work dude. You sound really fucking lazy and I would not want you in my band or working at our dildo store. You would lose us fans of our band and customers at the dildo store with such a shit head vile attitude.

In a shitty economy and decaying music business, it's better to be more fan friendly. People are very selective where they are spending their hard earned cash. Why would you want to give it to some asshole who blows you off? I treat people with respect. You know nothing about business and what is good for a band unless you already struck it big before the music sales crash, and are in fact just a prick. It's simple, it's good customer service.

Good riddance, you've gotta really want it these days, no more career rock bands with astronomical advances that add up to nothing except more blow booze and babes. Fuck the middlemen, the "business" is back in the hands of the bands and consumers. If you can't make it happen in his climate then it's your problem. It ain't easy and it never was, but blaming anyone else is childish.

Hey man, sounds awesome. I'll be checking you guys out man. You seem really cool and you know how to treat people. I wish you success.

My fucking point to some of the shit heads above. See how that works? He just generated possible business by just by being a cool cat. I never heard his fucking music before. I just wrote the bands name down and will be looking into them. There's the proof and results right there.

I've never heard one bad thing about Dio. My friend met him and he stood out and signed all of the fans shit. Took photos. Thanked them for buying cds and tickets and told them he would not be where he was without them. He died 3 months later. Dio was very sick at that time and he still did it. It's called CLASS

You obviously have nothing intelligent to say and you don't back yourself up. Shit talking is your guilt. You are obviously uneducated and really should take a business 101 class.
