CANNIBAL CORPSE To Celebrate 25th Anniversary - Dec. 15, 2012
Florida death metallers CANNIBAL CORPSE have issued the following update:

"Next year marks our 25th year as a band and we are going to celebrate it all year long! Keep an eye out for special releases, new merch designs and announcements! For now, you can check out our 25th-anniversary logo [see below] which will appear as a sleeve print on all our merch printed in 2013. You can pre order shirts with this print now along with our 2013 calendar that features the uncensored Vince Locke art from our 12 releases and marks all of our release dates, birthdays, our favorite horror film release dates and more! Everything can be found here. We never would have made it 25 years without all you die hard fans, get your horns up and blast your CORPSE records all year!"

CANNIBAL CORPSE's twelfth studio album, "Torture", sold 9,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 38 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous CD, "Evisceration Plague", also opened with 9,600 units to land at No. 66. That was more than 50 percent higher than the opening tally of CANNIBAL CORPSE's 2006 CD, "Kill", which entered the chart at No. 170 after shifting more than 6,000 copies.

"Torture" was again produced by HATE ETERNAL's Erik Rutan at his own Mana Recording Studio in St. Petersburg, Florida as well as Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas, and features the maniacal cover art by longtime CANNIBAL CORPSE artist Vincent Locke.

Wow 25 years of Cannibal Corpse. How cool is that. Hopefully they put together a tour, playing old songs from Eaten. That'd be cool.

There are two versions of this band. The first 4 albums are groundbreaking and absolute classics. If they are going to do something special they will do a tour that includes at minimum chris barnes and jack owen who are responsible for them being where they are today. Maybe they can do a split set or something like that.

one of my all time favorite bands in the history of metal. cannibal corpse rules all. plus, they are all hella cool dudes. cant say enough good stuff about them. every album they put out is just sick as hell. its very hard to top the last album, but they seem to do so with such ease. last show i saw them play was at the fillmore in SF earlier this year.. and they sounded so fuckin crushing and heavy. dear sweet lord it was good.

they could easily top all albums from '96-'12 if theyd just go back to their roots and get barnes back behind the microphone

How about a Six Feet Under / Cannibal Corpse tour. Have Chris Barnes come out and do 5-7 old Cannibal Corpse songs.

Barnes had said he was down to do a Six Feet Under / Cannibal Corpse tour and that they all get a long great now. That would be pretty sweet!

Bring back the original Cannibal Corpse logo! Put it in the rider that either "Put Them To Death" or "Shredded Humans" be played at each and every Cannibal from here until Satan smashes the world into Oblivion! Make happier with Chris Barnes and have him come back for a song or two at a show or two even tho Corpsegrinder is an Icon too! Release official guitar tabs books for the entire first 3 albums! Do a cover of an entire influential album to Cannibal like Possessed's "Seven Churches"! Listen to and have ASTRAEA INVADE open for you with nothing but brutal and satanic death metal!!!!!!!

Where does the time go. It's great to have them still around. They still sound hungry. With Pat, Alex and Rob you really can't get much better death metal players. Hate to say it but the unspoken truth is Jack left the band cause he couldn't play the shit Alex and Pat were coming up with. Paul is the only link left to their older sound. He hasn't progressed as much as Alex has. Listen to the last few albums, pretty scarce on fills just straight ahead beats. Listen to him on the first album, he was all over the place. Which era was better?...who gives a shit it's all good.

Paul needs to leave this band cause its not CC anymore its Alex Webster's ultra technical band. Paul jack and Chris need to start playing as CC with the old original logo and let Alex and Pat and george play their super technical stuff.

It doesn't matter to me how great of 'players' anyone is. It is the vibe and the songs they produce. Some of the best riffs and best songs ever are basic. Just because you may be a great player doesn't mean you make great songs. If that was the case you could go to your local guitar center and higher any of the dudes working in the guitar department. They are very talented but aren't song writers and can't make great songs.. if that was the case they wouldn't be working at Guitar Center and would be in a great band.

The best songs this band created was during the Bleeding era. That was a good combo of the first 3 albums mixed with a bit of progression.

The later Cannibal Corpse albums have their good moments but can't hold a candle to The Bleeding, Butchered at Birth, and Tomb of The Mutilated

very well said. Most virtuoso musicians are not the best songwriters. I think the best example would be Celtic Frost look how simplistic and basic Tom warrior's playing is, yet he writes arguably the most memorable songs in metal. Michael Angelo batio can shred a zillion notes per second but can he write a good solid memorable song? no. In the case of CC, I think the bleeding album was very technical and advanced but still had catchy and memorable songs. Nowadays CC is just technical for the sake of being technical.
