ROBERT PLANT Says He Wants To 'Chill For A While' - Dec. 12, 2012
Although it has been reported that legendary LED ZEPPELIN singer Robert Plant has written one new album with his backing band THE SENSATIONAL SHAPE SHIFTERS and another with singer/songwriter Buddy Miller, he tells Brian Ives of CBS Local that he will take it easy during the coming months.

"I think I might just chill for a while, to be honest," he says. "I'm enjoying life and spending more time in America now. I really enjoy it. I'm becoming way more aware and opinionated and stimulated by these new adventures. Everybody says I'm workaholic, and I just keep going and going. And I will do that [again]. But I want to explore more. When I think about how I was writing when I was a kid, when I was 20 or whatever, it was all about travel and journey and stimulus. I'm getting on a bit now, but I have to look at more stuff to be able to write cohesively."

Plant has also contributed to the next record from his girlfriend, singer/songwriter Patty Griffin, who was part of his backing group on his BAND OF JOY tour. "It's a brilliant record," said Plant. "It's produced by Craig Ross. I just joined her on a couple of songs, which we wrote together. It's great stuff, it's really good."

Read more from CBS Local.

Plant is the man. He was amazing on the Celebration DVD and he has my respect for not doing a Zeppelin tour. Awesome.

besides a sweet fuckin life....i think the overwhelming popularity of the celebration day release would propel me to do a reunion/farewell tour. it wouldn't be viewed as a last hurrah or cash grab of the past, they obviously still have the magic even if plant cant hit the high ones he still sounds great. even if its limited to major markets they could fill football/soccer stadiums the world over.

been busy since 1980, but can you blame us for wanting to see you perform with Led Zeppelin. It is, with the exception of The Beatles, the most popular band in history. If you would perform even a limited amount of shows ( 15-20), it is my opinion that it would bolster the sales/interest in all your projects.

His last few records have been really happening: each one a bit different than the one before it.. 'Mighty Rearranger' (with The Strange Sensation) is adventurous and way cool, 'Raising Sand' with Alison Krauss was beautiful and 'Band Of Joy' was really solid. I'm glad he's making a new album again. I'm glad he wrote a new album with The Sensational Shape Shifters.

He just finished a solo tour not that long ago. That, and promoting 'Celebration Day', so why not take it easy for a bit?

Can't wait to check out the new album when it comes out.

Saw a photo of Plant visiting Michael Monroe at Varvatos a little while back, when Monroe did a 'secret' gig there.

Never knew Plant was a fan, but then it hit me.... Monroe broke up his band when the drummer passed on, as well.

Led Zeppelin should reunite but with Coverdale on vocals... then you'd have 4 people willing to tour

I think I will Chill for a while in regards to anything Robert Plant does unrelated to Led Zeppelin.

I have supported you solo, bought your albums seen you live numerous times even when you refused to play Led Zeppelin material Live for your first 2 tours.

I even sat through that crap Honey Drippers set on your Shaken & Stirred tour and accepted you when you teamed up with Alison Krauss.

Now I am growing resentful and tired of your pompous attitude. Goodbye Percy

If he'd wanted to do Led Zeppelin without John Bonham, he'd do it in 1981. He says he's not really into heavy rock anymore - you think he'd deliver energetic performances after touring routine would kick in? Or he'd participate in creating an inspired new album? He has the privilege of not being forced to do this for money, all shoud respect his sincere decision.

Anybody who's been following Robert Plant's post-1980 career knows he has hardly ever stopped playing, recording and touring on new music.

Chill Robert. You've earned it.

Listen up you Limey fag - the ONLY reason anyone knows your goddamn name is LED ZEPPELIN.
get your lazy ass off the fuckin' couch and start rehearsing the entire 'Zep catalog. We (America, the country that made you rich beyond your wildest imagination) could not give an ice cold fuck about your solo work or bluegrass bullshit. WE WANT A 3 HOUR SET OF LED ZEPPELIN AND WE WANT IT NOW.
Remember WWII??? ...time to pay us back for the favor.

The three of them should reunite, just with a different drummer. Jason Bonham's drumming was terrible at O2. No wonder why Robert Plant didn't want to do anymore shows.
