MOTÖRHEAD Guitarist Says Band Will 'Try' To Record New Album By Next Summer - Dec. 12, 2012
RockDestiny.ch conducted an interview with MOTÖRHEAD guitarist Phil Campbell at the Metal Christmas Festival, which took place on December 7 in Bern, Switzerland. You can now watch the chat below.

MOTÖRHEAD was forced to cancel last night's (Tuesday, December 11) concert in Kempten, Germany after the band's frontman, Ian Fraser "Lemmy" Kilmister, came down with the flu.

MOTÖRHEAD will enter the studio in January with longtime producer Cameron Webb to begin recording its next album for a mid-2013 release.

MOTÖRHEAD released "The Wörld Is Ours – Vol 2: Anyplace Crazy As Anywhere Else" in Germany on September 21, three days later in the rest of Europe and October 9 in North America via UDR/EMI. The follow-up to 2011's "The Wörld Is Ours – Vol 1: Everywhere Further Than Everyplace Else" features the band's 2011 Wacken Open Air headline appearance as well as highlights from Sonisphere (United Kingdom) and Rock In Rio (Brazil) shows.

MOTÖRHEAD's latest album, "The Wörld Is Yours", sold 7,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 94 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous effort, "Motörizer", premiered with 6,400 units back in 2008 to debut at No. 82, while 2006's "Kiss Of Death" registered a first-week tally of 3,500.

The world is yours was awesome...that is why maybe Lemmy should stop on a good album. In the motorhead catalog it seems every other album is the better one. I don't want to see the final motorhead album be a weak one. I would rather have them tour, but stop putting out cds at this point. They went out with a bang on the last one.

And I am a huge Motorhead fan by the way.

What happened to the covers album thing? Not happening anymore. Also almost every Motorhead album is a good album. Only not so good ones are March Or Die, Snake Bites Love and Hammered.

...was a solid album, but it definitely felt like a step down from the three that preceded it. Aside from a few tracks - namely "Brotherhood of Man", "Outlaw", and "Devils in My Head" - it felt slightly less inspired and urgent than the relentless, unadulterated vigor and power of 'Inferno', 'Kiss of Death' and 'Motorizer', and even 'Hammered' for that matter (though, that album was quite inconsistent in the songwriting department). Some folks here may have really liked 'The World is Yours', and genuinely consider it a high-point worth finishing on, but I don't share that feeling. I don't want Motorhead to finish their stellar career on an album that simply 'does the job'. I want an album so visceral and raucous that it brings a smile to my face; THAT is a note that Motorhead needs to finish on.
