Track from: "The Strange Case Of..."

Nominations for the 55th annual Grammy Awards were announced tonight by The Recording Academy and reflected an eclectic mix of the best and brightest in music over the past year, as determined by the voting members of The Academy. For the fifth year, nominations for the annual Grammy Awards were announced on primetime television as part of "The Grammy Nominations Concert Live! — Countdown To Music's Biggest Night", a one-hour CBS entertainment special broadcast live for the first time ever at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The 55th annual Grammy Awards will be held on "Grammy Sunday," Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, (8:00-11:30 p.m., live ET/delayed PT) at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles.

"The Grammy Awards process once again has produced a diverse and impressive list of nominations across multiple genres," said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy. "This year's nominees truly represent an exceptional and vibrant creative community that exemplifies some of the highest levels of artistry and excellence in their respective fields. Combined with the fifth year of our primetime nominations special, we're off to an exciting start on the road to Music's Biggest Night, the 55th annual Grammy Awards, on February 10."

This year's Grammy Awards process registered more than 17,000 submissions over a 12-month eligibility period, October 1, 2011 to September 30, 2012. Grammy ballots for the final round of voting will be mailed on Wednesday, December 19 to the voting members of The Recording Academy. They are due back to the accounting firm of Deloitte by Wednesday, January 16, when they will be tabulated and the results kept secret until the 55th Grammy broadcast.

The 55th annual Grammy Awards are produced by AEG Ehrlich Ventures for The Recording Academy. Ken Ehrlich is executive producer and Louis J. Horvitz is director.

They disbanded after that tour:(

BUT!!!! They have gotten back together (last year) and recorded a new album. They are not on a label, so I think they are trying to find one to release the beast. Only speculation though...

Of all the great Maiden songs, I can't believe they picked this one for a Grammy. I'd like to know who picks these songs. It just proves how out-of-touch the Grammy judges are with metal music. (Reminds me of how Jethro Tull beat out Metallica for best album in the late '80s...before Metallica was produced by Bob Cock and was at the top of their game.)

who on earth picks these songs? they just seem so random. I love Anthrax, Megadeth and Maiden, but they could have picked much better songs of their albums.

The Grammy's is just a joke, plain and simple ....and dont get me started on Marilyn Manson being nominated. Sheesh.

it's like they intentionally picked the worst song from each album. King Me would've made for a much better LoG tune, and Sudden Death by Megadave, Earth is on Hell by Anthrax, ect.

All likeable songs. Blood Brothers is a great song, fine with that. I'm Alive is alright, but there is better. Love Bites is great, I l love it. Ghost Walking is decent, it's the single on the album. Whose Life is It Anyways? Is ok, but I woulda done Never Dead, since they did Sudden Death already. And NO Reflection is ok. Last year they only had 5 noms with 2 being Foo Fighters & Sum 41.

is a very good song, but really, Fight Em' Til You Can't should have been the song chosen. It's not only the best known song from the album, it's also probably the best. Earth On Hell and The Devil You Know would have been better picks as well. I have a feeling Fight Em' wasn't chosen because it's a fast song, with a very old school thrash feel to it. In other words, not really Grammy material! lol

And I agree with RedZombie that Never Dead should have been the song nominated from 13. But again, like Fight Em', it's a thrashy and aggressive song... which is probably why it wasn't chosen. lol *sigh*

What, they had to pick a TWELVE YEAR OLD version of a live song from Maiden?

They couldn't find five metal band who actually released NEW songs within the past year?

Abso-fucking-lutely pathetic.

And I'm Alive is probably the worst song on Worship Music...sounds way too modern rock for my tastes.

...here are some thoughts:

Anthrax - Rooting for them. Worship Music was in my Top 5 of last year.

Halestorm - Never left an impression on me.

Iron Maiden - IDK why, but I don't think live tracks should be nominated. It's like the Grammy people don't know to look deeper and chose this because they didn't know anything else. I have a feeling that either they or Halestorm will win.

Lamb of God - My 2nd choice.

Marilyn Manson - I just think he's past his prime. The fact that he is a big name might give him an advantage, though.

Megadeth - WHY THIS SONG??? I'm glad they're nominated, but this is one of my least favorite songs by them in recent memory. I never thought I'd say this, but I hope they don't win this time.

Live album song for Maiden? WTF Do these guys even know what they are doing or are they just saying "Hey Maidens really popular again and been around forever, we should nominate a Maiden song off their latest album to show respect and that we know what's going on in the scene. It's just weird. Plus, that whole Rush induction to the RRHF. It's almost an insult to these bands and their fans. It's like saying "We are so highbrow and out of touch that we don't listen to it, but we know other real music fans do so we will throw them a bone."

Where's Testament - True American Hate? Not that i'm surprised Testament would be recognized by the grammy's. I don't know how they even choose what to nominate. The latest Megadeth and Anthrax came out in 2011... So this makes 11 nominations for Megadeth, And no wins yet. I think they just like to fuck with Mustaine
